Rallycross

Hey all, my car's been running great thanks to help of you guys on dsmtuners.com and other people.
OVR has brought Rallycross close to my town and it's a blast, but I think more people could help it to grow and stick around for a bit.

Here is a pic of my car in the first event this year:

Where are they running these events?

They are currently running these events in the London, Ohio area. I know however though there are Rallycross events in other states. I see it says you're in Cali so I'm sure you wouldn't drive to Ohio for an event .

Nice to see another local dsm!! I might go to watch a rallycross sometime, I would run in one but my car is setup strictly for the street. Hope to get a chance to meet you sometime.

I looked at the ones around in my region and they required a roll cage, I dont have one of those yet, so that already discouraged me from these.

ack, just remembered, thats a rallycross, I was thinking real rally. I wish they had just rallycrosses here and not rallies.

We need to trade... I have a caged car, all setup to do some performance rally, and all we have around here are rallycrosses and Road Rally

Great, I'll keep everyone here posted on Rallycross times and dates for the events I know a website that has all this info but the address for it has slipped my mind currently.

Yeah definitely don't need a rollcage for Rallycross, which is why it's so great, all you really need to have any special parts on the car, just some snow tires are something great to have.

I love how the track seems to be somebodies yard. ha! i should do that in my yard . man, all these dsmers within an hour away from me, we should have a southern michigan meet once a month or something. im the only dsmer i know of around here, im sure there are a few in the jackson area but you know, its hard to see a cool dsm, let alone become friends with them.

What is the point in having a dsm if you can't have a little off-road fun with it? Haha, that's fine but at least come out sometime.

Yeah, you're looking at what I could film in between my driving and working the track, I had to film quickly. Not to mention I don't film a lot or edit video but I did what I could . Next one will be better hopefully.

Haha yeah this was a thread I started a while back, it definitely beats up the car, front linkage is loose, shocks are a little rough now, not to mention you want to use crappy rims, maybe even steelies.

I was going to post for used rally tires and wheels on SpecialStage and see if I can get anything for next season.

I am thinking of 14" or 15" wheels and tires - use the 16" alloys for driving around. AGX Shocks and GC Coil-overs, better swaybars, and that is about it. Any other suggestions?

As for abusing the car? That's why I have four cars, lots of tools, free weekends, am single, and like to tape up bloody knuckles.

I've been using 16" steelies. I made changes to the car over last winter hoping to make it usable at the low speeds that are seen at rallyx. Was looking forward to my first rallyx of this year in December (yeah, a VERY late start for this year!) Unfortunately though, after some testing with my new setup now, I might just be giving up on rallyx. Even with the changes (which DID help the car a good deal), the throttle response on my DSM is just too awkward at such low speeds. Goes from bog to wheelspin too easily. I'm just NOT a good enough driver to be able to control it. It's barely controllable for me at a rain autox. The lower speeds and reduced traction of rallycross are just too much for me to overcome.

Haha, wow this thread IS old.

Great video, I saw a G1 Integra a couple times. Thought about rallying mine when I had it.

I want to try and get a local national park and/or ski resort to allow and/or support a monthly hillclimb or event of that manner. The roads out here are perfect for it.
