So this my 1990 Laser that i just saved. It comes from one of my neighbors. the car sat for approx. 15 to 20 years, last registered in 2000.

Comes with Momo arrow wheels 17x8 et 35 and a Archer Pacific Racing body kit, wich is warped as hell.

brakes are not stuck neither is the motor !

neighbor claims the engine as only 40 000km, it got rebuilt in the past but who knows when. the timing belt is not cracked and still in good shape, timing is still in the right spot.

i'll be posting updates as soon as i can get the car registered and plated.

Started stripping the interior to reveal rust holes on the floor. A bit of bodywork will do her good.

Really big cleanup where the old radio was.

And started toubleshooting why it wouldnt start.

Turns out my ecu was blown, capacitors leaked.

All power to the ecu and all grounds were there

A Dsm guru nearby gave me a known good ecu and it fired right up

Still doesnt not run well, needs a big fuel system clean ! But it runs

Nearly done making the patch panels, this week is gonna be a busy week at the shop, i hope i can find some time to work on it after the shop is closed.

Still need to remove the gas tank, change the fuel pump and inspect it to see if its rusted out.

Fuel lines and rear brake lines need to be redone too

quick update !
changed the fuel tank out and the pump, redid the lines

patched panel here and there

redid the brakes and all the rear lines

cancelled emissions, good tune up

Car was still running bad, it would idle but when given gas it would cut out

turns out the replacement Ecu was from a 92 and 2 pins on the connector for the 90 are backwards !

it runs great now ! took it for its first test drive in over 15 years !

Worked on the car all day today

Put the all the lights on
Sealed the oil pan and drain tube. Changed the motor mount at the same time
Cleaned underneath while i was there

And made a custom axleback exhaust because the muffler was rotten out

It still got issues tho:

Very long to start, seems like the fuel system is bleeding off( is there a check valve somewhere?)
And it surges when cold if the idle switch is connected, any ideas ?

Made its first 100km in 16 years yesterday!

The stock suspension on these cars is super comfortable 👌 but too way too much wheel gap !

Still lots of work ahead of me but it's now back on the roads ! :D
