Ok, Its been over 2 months since my last entry. Work has been slow so in return cash flow has been slow. In my last blog we had just gotten the sound deadening out. Since then a lot has gone on.

We wanted to build the chassis to be able to go faster than it will with the current setup so we put a parachute bar and window net in. The Roll bar is finally in as well as the interior painted. The roll bar is a metallic purple. The third picture from the bottom is probably the most accurate of what it really looks like. Its really nice though. I will get good pictures of everything once I can push the car outside again. The whole roll bar assembly was sealed, base coated, and clearcoated. It was also a major PITA!
We custom made seat mounts and welded them solid to the floor to add support and removed the stock seat mounts. The seats still need covers.

We also picked up a JMF drag Manifold, true twin scroll top mount in place of our T3 and also the big dog 18cm twin scroll hot side in place of the BEP housing on our holset. We will be running a 3.5" bumper exit exhaust. We need to modify the mani and downpipe for our twin wastegate setup still. I still need to ceramic coat the hot side.

Also got some scat rods. D2 coilovers in the way this week and a TRE stage 3 trans soon.

Doing some minor porting and polishing to the head (unfinished in pics). Also picked up some springs and titanium retainers.
We picked up a 4 bolt rear which is in the process of being cleaned up and put in along with our rear subframe which will be completely blasted and powdercoated and installed with solid mounts.

It was originally the color of the kaizenspeed car and then someone had it repainted silver. The body is in absolutely terrible shape. Dented from a hail storm, minor rust, clear coat flaking everywhere. Its going to be a lot more work to fix it but I'd rather sacrifice a shitty shell for what we are doing than ruin a nice shell. Plus I am a body man so all the labor is free. haha The car is going to be painted black with some sport bronze rotas and QTP's when finished.

The manifold was made by MFGracing. Thanks for the compliment on the build. It has been really fun so far and I am really looking forward to seeing what the HX-40 can do. It seems like there just aren't that many results out there for the turbo and also most of the builds tend to be pretty mild. Anyhow, the finished product should be wonderful and we hope to have it to the shootout this year.

Actually the seats aren't too bad. The shape is really comfortable but the sets themselves are pretty hard. Once the covers are on though they are not bad. My partner and I both want to be able to drive the car and I am 5'7" and 140lbs and he i about 6'3" 220lbs so we didn't have many options in terms of a seat that would fit us both perfectly haha

haha. I have been looking around for an nice light seat.

What brand is that?

More pics, more information on how you redid the seat mounts. Did you cut out the stock support, did you cut the floor around it and made a wider "new" floor mount, did you cut the metal with waves to match the floor, or from under the car did you just weld it and have some edges.

Basicly, can you either post a thread or PM me a full write up on what you did there; I would really like to see what kind of ideas I can get from other DSMers, there isn't alot of threads that have to do with just making seat mounts like this :)

Thanks!

Looking good. The HX40 has already made 685 on a dsm so you got a goal to shoot for already ;) One thing though I can't tell by the picks but do you have a halo and supporting bars? If not the net is kinda pointless because you need a roll CAGE before you need a window net.

Thanks! And yes it is a velocity stack. 4" inlet
