Hi
I'm new to DSM's,I just bought a 1990 turbo and I want to restore everything from the non working flip up lights to how to fully BPU this engine. It did come.with manual boost controller, and an 250lph fuel pump and injectors which I don't know cc,they have a colored oring adj.fuel pressure regulator etc.also how to I upload pics here it keeps saying file to large..I apologize in advance for not knowing all the proper terms etc..I'm old and retired.
Thanks
Vin

Welcome, to upload a picture you will have to make it a bit smaller. The easiest way to do this is to is to open the file in paintbrush or similar and then click the resize icon and make it smaller. I normally just cut it in half and call it a day.

Thank you shark.just got this car today as a projwct build..I have the money just need experts on here to tell me step by step and i will build and document it with pics and vids.I'm so overwhelmed on where to begin..help guys where do I start.?
Also how do indentify the CCs,of the injectors he gave me and the manifold, and adj.fuel.reg in the picture what is that manifold he gave me.

The car runs and misses on a cylinder,it booster the crank case I notice dip stick out..
My goal is to restore and get it mid 12s..I also used to race domestics so I have a nitrous express what kit adj,up to 150hp...
I was thinking of spraying just a 50 shot and maybe 12lbs of boost,ARP stud the head and build bottom end with forged pistons and total seal rings. That is my extent of what I did in the day for my fox body mustangs..I don't know abut these DSMs..please help

To better get help it is recommended that all users fill out or create a profile so other members can browse what you have what is done ect...

Also this site has seen just about anything that can go wrong with a dsm so searching and researching is kind of a must.
Dip stick popping out
https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=dsm dipstick popping out
normally when you search something dsmtuners will be at the top of the page.

Injectors: There should be identifying numbers on them which can vary depending on who makes them... who makes them???

Ok I'm trying to figure out all this four stuff and profiles..I didn't have computers growing up..LOL.

Oh how much should I pay for someone to rebuild the long block?

Before you even look into rebuilds you should ascertain the health of your motor via compression test. These motors can take a beating when maintained so if compression checks out 12's are no problem for a stock block.
Being that you are Ford guy I know you're familiar with working on cars :D

I don't want to trust a 160k.mile block with just a compresion and leakdown..I dont trust impeller play..I want to just rebuild it one t.the right way..buy once cry once..
the timing belt cover looks to have rubbed the timing belt and frayed it I just took top part of cover off...what is that manifold part in the pic..the previous owner didn't even know what it was.

That piece is just an o2 housing, the theory is that it is supposed to create smoother flow and reduce turbulence over the stock o2 housing. I have never ran one so can't speak from experience...

Ok that makes sense just like a true chain mandrel bent header for better flow and consistent tubing diameter..what bolts to the top on that flange..do you have a pic of it installed on anether vehicle so I can see its orientation.
I found a long block on ebay for 2k..free shipping is that a good price?.I really just want a high 12 or low 13 reliable on drag radial sleeper.

The injectors say 125-650 on them and have green o-rings and RA logo I think.
The adjustable fuel reg, looks generic but hey it was included with the car..owner said the prior owner put in a larger fuel pump.
What fuel pressure should I set ADJ,regulator at with those Injectors?

Maintenance of all belts, fluids, plugs and wires is the best place to start Vin. These cars have had many years on them and that should be a top priority. Just trying to get you going down the right path to start with. :thumb:

Oh I'm pulling the engine and going through whole car..the timing belt cover rubbed on belt I found this when I took top cover off the expose came gears and saw worn, frayed belt...

I would like a D.S.M. tuner shop in central florida who is passionate abut these cars and has built them before..any suggestions?

Got everything I need for my build today
New built long block,wisecoHDs,crower,eagle
JMF intake
FMIC
Tial BOV etc.etc.

My guess on the injectors is that they are 650 cc by the numbers
https://www.ecmtuning.com/wiki/engineandecu101
Manual 1g fuel pressure is 37psi auto is 42.6

You cant and shouldn't run those injectors until you have a way to tune for the added fuel...
Best recommendation is http://www.ecmtuning.com/product_info.php?products_id=36
If you look into it you will see its capabilities and know it is well worth the money.
You can find them used in the classifieds here for a good deal sometimes...
Hello again.
Don't know if you saw my update.
Bought a long block with eagle crank,Crowe rods.WISECOHD,ARP studded head etc etc..and JMF intake and other goodies.
Do you know what bolt size and thread pitch I need to put new engine on my motor stand Soni can go to hardware store and get the same size bolts without having to pull from transmission?
Also where to out engine plate Soni can cherry picker my stock 1G out? Can I use a few exhaust manifold studs they look kinda small and where doniput chain in the back to pull motor?
Thanks in advance

My car is being built by REDLINE here in Florida I will post when done.

Lookin good, I like the valve cover color scheme. Not sure if it was mentioned but is this car awd or fwd?
..i had a choice and I went FWD so I wont have drivetrain issues..i may buy an AWD chassis in future..this fully built motor is going to be nasty

The 1990 FWD transmission are supposedly the weakest of all DSM transmissions so be careful. You may want to consider putting an AWD transmission in your car with AWD axles. I hear that is a stronger combination than the FWD setup.

Beautiful car! Looks like you're on the right track can't wait to see how it turns out!

The motor was built for a 700hp..so 400hp with 650cc should be reasonable sleeper and very reliable

Now that I have a fully built block what is realistic made on 650cc..20G..v3link?
Also 1/4mile time guess with drag radials?
