Hello Iām Axel. Iāve been in the automotive industry for 40 years I have built many custom cars an trucks was master technician for Ford for 12 years, ASE certified for over 20years, BUT with that said this is my very first Mitsubishi itās an 04 Eclipse GS. I paid $500.00 for it and it didnāt run.
I ran OBD codes, seen 17 misfires and cam sensor not reading (code P0340). I did a little searching, found wire harness to look as good as the car so was not believing that the problem was even close to wire related ran test on cam sensor very simple multi-meter test and found if I tapped on the sensor some times it worked some times didnāt.
So due to all the misfires I didnāt take the risk. I ordered 2 new coils two new plug wires (have to say that is one strange ignition system these cars have) along with 4 new NGK plugs and a new cam sensor (none of which where bought from eBay or Amazon).
Sorry, no offense but I canāt get myself to buy ignition parts on line.
Once I got everything installed the car now starts and runs amazing to the point that my Christian heart says I should maybe get back a hold of the guy I bought it from and give him a little more money for the car.
Now, Iām trying to find the instrument cluster bulbs numbers but at this point itās crazy to see all these bulbs in it. SO I think this weekend will be a GREAT time to do my own custom lighting. I like the idea of being able to color change the lights to what ever I feel in the mood for plus the fact of being able to let them dance with the music at audio competitions is fun. Since I think Iāll be letting my son (16 tomorrow) use this car to compete with MY actual car for audio competitions is Way Crazy at close to 25,000 rms.
