Oh, never mind that idea then. I don’t know the problems of two kids (one was enough) - I mean I don’t know the problem of an auto trans.
LOL 😂😂💀 me neither man i know some shit but loosing gears randomly and it coming back randomly sometimes 2 secs sometimes 5 mins i lost it, i dropped it off at the shop i had build my trans. we will see what happens. i just want to be cautious. to much money in this thing for it to go down like that
 
Sounds like a VB or pressure issue. Its going from neutral to back into gear randomly or just when it tries to shift into the next gear?
yeah its random asf, i cant get into another gear it wont shift. then yes at random nothing of my doing the gears will drop, the first time i turned the car off and back on and there they were working again. come to this last time when i decided it was to much and park it so it wont break. i can up to 2 way stop sign and got stuck and had to push it to a parking lot because i couldnt get the gears to come back at all turning it on and off multiple times. so i thought it was officially done, me and a random guy pushed it in a parking and then i tried again this was maybe max 5 mins and bam i had gears so i drove it around the corner to my house parked it. now its at the trans shop. unfortunately i just want to make sure nothing catastrophic happens
like i said i will drive this car and i will enjoy my work i have done to this car. maybe i should look into a pressure gauge?

one of the intercooler coupler keeps coming off when trying to get into it, havnt spent money on pipes couplers or clamps yet. still running some of the worm clamps in some spots, looking into upgrading.
i forgot to rtv the dumbass middle manifold bolt so it had to come apart, got that done
brake light switch was never in there good to go now
im not running coolant to this ebay turbo so i had capped off the nipples on the water pipe but yk damn well they kept leaking just a tad bit, so i had a backup water pipe that i cut the nipples off and welded them shut.
i wrapped the o2 housing and manifold and downpipe in heat wrap still have the oem heat shield too hopefully that helps keep temps down some.
also made a little heatshield for the alternator out of some random manifold heatshield, painted it black good to go.
valve covers getting rtv’d and thread seleant on the bolts
got a new coupler for that dumbass blue one should work good.
catch can 90 broke wth ordering a new one.
tried to get an alignment and my buddy said the rack was spun so i gotta get that done too.

I like that alt heat shield. - Where do those come from?
LOL either you missed it, or i asssume you dont read the posts 😂 i put it in there, home made my boy. cost me zippo, grabbed a manifold heatshield i had laying around off some random car, i kept it around because it had that nice bend you see and i just knew it would fit the alternator great when i cut it up, so i didnt have to much bending or anything to do, just made a mounting point and it looks good too honestly not to ugly. the wires should fit under it.

with the motor and tranny out, i dropped the suspension everythings getting replaced. as the car was sitting for years prior to me buying it. i completely tore apart the front of the car. getting ready to repaint the engine bay. much needed. now to put everything back.

By myself and pulling a 4g64 out of a Spyder and swapping it with a 4g63 turbo. Problem is my wiring harness came out of a 97 GST not a Spyder.. 🤔 so now I'm trying to figure out the difference or if I need a spider GST wiring harness. Anyway good luck with your project it's awesome beautiful car I love it

find a spider harness it’s different i had that problem when i owned my talon drop top.
and appreciate it man! yeah its almost done, it runs and drives. i just need a nice turbo and tune.

okay so cant get the passanger side window to work it will roll down but not up. 12v added it’ll go up or down.
the radiator fan still doesnt work supplied 12volts it will.
sunroof doesnt work
key light around the key is in and out sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t.
door chimes and power doors dont work.
also check engine light wont illuminate unless i jump the red wire going to the mpi relay. so i changed the harness with a stock one same thing.
trans issue is still persistent even after changing harnesses. bummer.

okay so found out why i had to jump the red wire on the mpi relay to get the check engine light to illuminate in acc.
transmission still losses gears. ecu has no effect.
tcm has been changed
wire harness has been changed
looking like the transmission is f***ed.
ill wait til i get my ecu back send it into the shop and there going to have to fix it.
my power door locks dont work
passanger window will only go down
radiator fan still doesnt work.

ecu came in yesterday it works for the check engine light in acc, havnt driven it but the trans problem still probably persists.
is this one of those goodies?

when i had the other valve cover on with the cheap -10 AN catch can no check valve it would piss oil out of the turbo to downpipe connection. this stock one seemed to help but i think i still gotta burn off whats left
this little ADR thing goes in my hubcap gotta get some new ones
center counsel looks good got the cupholders and jazz going
sunroof opens/closes when i jump the motor. fuze is good
passanger side window will work with driver side buttons and will go down with passanger side but not up.
and for the biggest problem the trans its gotta go back to the shop, ive diagnosed everything, i made a shift box and it wanted to drop gears and act funny when i was in 2nd

okay so the car seems to run and drive fine buttt im getting alot of knock on a stock timing table ?
i really did have a set of broken wires in my fuze box harness that i finally found and hopefully can finish getting everything else ready im almost there
i like the look of the stock fuze box, but i did my best of re routing or hiding 99% of the other wires, it came out nice honestly it works and when i put it back in i could roll my windows up on both sides thats great! so i tried the door locks and they still didnt work, they have power but it doesnt seem like enough power.
added a pic of the lil bracket i welded onto the heatshield i made for the alternator. i bolt it to the case with one of the skinny long bolts.
my horn doesn’t work looking into that.
lots more to do but need to order it all!
it runs and drives tho!

RE: engine knock. How old is your gas? On my first key turn my car ran lean, had massive amounts of misfires and engine knock. And it was because my gas was bad. Give it a smell and see if it’s sour.
 
finding a eclipse in a junkyard near me is already the miracle but i found just what i needed,
PO drilled this hole for security system light so i replaced it
glove box bracket that i misplaced i nabbed it at the junkyard finally got the glovebox in 💀
puttin on most the oem parts i can, so this plastic piece goes back.

OEM AS f*** BOY
i got one of these wheel liner that came with the car when i bought it but unfortunately only one side so hopefully i can find another
radio and center counsel all look good.
i got my driver side fan to work
i got the power windows to work
i got the power locks to work one seems weak tho.
but for the LIFE OF ME i cant seem to get this sunroof to work, all parts only have 70k on them and no rust or any kind of corrosion so they shouldn’t need replaced it never worked when i bought it, i have power to the 20 amp and 10 amp fuse, if i jump the motor i can get it to open and close. so everything works somethings stopping it. now theres this orange wire supposedly ? i see it going into the sunroof ecu and it supposed to go into your drivers door switch ? yeah i dont see a orange wire going to my door. but it loses continuity when i close the door.

doing the little things til i can get a new wideband, and a tune
i couldn’t get the sunroof to work with everything stock so i just ended up ripping it all out and put in a switch it works open and close 🫡 thats all im worried about and i got it to sit in the stock location
headliner can finally go back in.
got the coolant reservoir figured out.
radio and center counsel are good to go
got the horn working 🫡
everything works now besides the driver side door lock it seems weak it will unlock but not lock.
passanger side is great. waiting for a key fob to come in the mail

figured out why my wideband doesnt work new sensor should be here tomorrow
did a compression test everything looks good
then used my good ole nogan to make up a air filter box
think ima have to make ducting for the rad
what’s operating coolant temp for these things?
whats to high?
i have 2 stock fans is there better fans ? or should i keep them?
