what is this and what does it plug into?

Check the switches in you dash. That plug looks really similar to the ones that connect to the cruse control button or the power mirros. Im sorry I cant be of much help, since my car is getting painted and I check myself. But good luck anyways.

If my car is finished this week, I will check it out and help you.

thanks i appreciate it, my power mirrors work, but my power lock doesnt, and my cruise control work as well

Looking solely at the shape/color of the connector and assuming I am looking at it correctly, I find one very similar in the FSM. However, the wire colors don't seem to match up at all to me. Note that this could also be the mating connector so the wire colors could be reversed. Again, I don't think that is the case, but it's worth a shot.

B-73: 14-pin, blue connector in this arrangement (the X's refer to the connector's "release" location) as viewed from the backside (the wire side) of the harness:
1__ 2__ 3__ X__ X__ 4__ 5__ 6
7__ 8__ 9__ 10_ 11_ 12_ 13_ 14

1 - light green (90-255)
2 - blue w/ black stripe (90-156)
3 - blue w/ red stripe (90-156)
4 - black w/ blue stripe (90-159)
5 - ??
6 - red w/ green stripe (90-254)
7 - yellow (90-159) -- which ultimately leads to pin 1 of the Data Link Connector
8 - brown w/ white stripe (90-156)
9 - brown (90-156)
10 - brown w/ blue stripe (90-158)
11 - blue w/ white stripe (90-158, 90-255)
12 - green w/ black stripe (90-158)
13 - red w/ green stripe (90-159)
14 - blue w/ red stripe (90-254)

Wires involved with Central Door Locking System (vehicles w/ keyless entry): 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
Wires involved with Theft Alarm (Security) System: 1, 6, 11, 14
With the brief glance over the manual, I do not see any mention of pin 5 -- but that doesn't mean it isn't there.

The rest should be a good enough indicator of whether or not that is the plug you have. If it isn't (as I don't believe it is), it would be helpful to the rest of us if you could provide us the wire colors in some ordered arrangement. Then, hopefully, we can track it down.

directly from behind plug. plug clip facing upward (horizontally)

Top Row, from left to right:

light green,blue w/ black stripe,blue w/ red stripe,brown w/ blue stripe, blue w/ white stripe, black w/ blue stripe,empty,red w/ green stripe

Bottom Row,From left to right:

yellow, brown with white stripe, brown, brown with blue stripe, blue with white stripe, green with black stripe, red with green stripe, blue with red stripe

Alright, using what you have provided, it really sounds like we are talking about the same connector, despite the difference in size, the slight difference in wire arrangement, and the overall number of wires (yes, I understand that's a bit of a leap). Note the corrections to my previous post. For the record, I am reading this straight from a 1998 Factory Service Manual, so I can't begin to explain why the plugs would be different. Nothing else here comes remotely close to matching what you have described.

For clarification purposes, pin 1 is labeled LG which I took to mean blue w/ green. If it were blue w/ green, it would be L-G. LG is, as the correction notes, for light green. It also is not this pin that runs to the Data Link Connector, as I originally stated. It is pin 7 (yellow) of this connector that ends up running to the Data Link Connector. I made a careless mistake in that this yellow ends up running to pin 1 of the Data Link Connector (as well as other places). Sorry for the confusion with those. Finally, the numbers in parenthesis after each wire color is the location in the manual I found each one; it's more for me than for anyone else unless they have the same manual and care to follow along.

Still can't seem to locate pin 5 anywhere. Will take a breather and have another go at it.

Thanks for all your effort in trying to help me out, i appreciate it, ill take another look at the top row of wires and give it a 2nd look to see if i miss anything or made any mistakes.

wow im an idiot i totally mest that up im so sorry. the top row is as follows from left to right

light green, blue with black or brown stripe(cant really see),blue with red stripe, black with blue stripe, empty(guessing this is pin 5), red with blue stripe

yes sir!,so this has nothing to do with my OBD2 port right?

Here I was thinking I was in the clear... :ohdamn:

Pin 7 should (ultimately) run to pin 1 on the Diagnostic Check Connector, which I believe is the OBD2 port. Check pin 1 on the port and see if it is also a yellow wire.

Now for where it goes. Behind the kickpanel/junction (fuse) block there should be a connector for it. It is one of three (four for Spyders) blue connectors that connects the body wiring harness and rear wiring harness together. The blue connectors should all come from the same loom on the "body" (dash) side. If it is on the "rear" (of the car) side, there is another connector (black) coming from the loom that connects to the lower backside of the junction block.

That's about as good as I can do without actually having a car in front of me. :p
