Lifter tick or A ROD KNOCK??? Sometimes it is hard to tell. An old timers trick is to pull a plug wire from the motor while it is running and see if it goes away. If it does, it is a rod.
Single lifter tick on a 4g motor isn't something I have...
Sites that support our platform are listed at the bottom of the page. They are our SUPPORTING VENDORS, so you should try to give them business. If used parts are ok, keep an eye out for them in the classifieds on here. Congratulations on the...
Fast. Cheap. Reliable. You can't have all three and the middle one is locked in by your own admission.People without the money to pay to do things right from the start and then try to make twice the power the engine was originaly released with...
Sure am! I really wanted to get it done by this Saturday for a cars n coffee but I'm not sure that's gonna happen. I'll try though! The clear cover is an eBay cover, they seem to fit well enough with a little modifications.
I bolt them up...
I'd get this one checked out first by someone who knows aluminum cylinder heads (and not old school iron).
I'd sooner rework an existing head for $1000, including new bronze guides and cutting new valve seats, than buy a parts store replacement...
I went with mostly all Delphi from rockauto for control arms and tie rods for the front end. Everything feels just as sturdy as oem. But I plan to upgrade to Fiba upper control arms and volk lowers when I start tracking the car more.
I will see what I can dig up. I basically datalog all the time but many times I've been dumb and didn't stop the log when I changed parameters on the fly, so I don't have accurate FPS configuration saved in all cases. This was Sept of '22, just...
Thanks guys, i have another trans being built by Rix racing at the moment, just didn’t want the same thing to happen to that one because swapping these out is kind of a pain haha and I figured it had to be something I was doing wrong because I...
As me fioned above clean everything. Forget to clean the cooler as its gone. Like like oil coolers when a besring goes on you its a consumable so thrown away for a new one.Open up the valve body and clean the solenoids and every section inside...
Absolutely forgot that. Great advice.Just buy a new trans cooler and lines tbh. Kits are inexpensive and it’s not worth risking a few stubborn pieces of metal being lodged that’ll ruin another good trans.
I will add that if you did or do not flush out the transmission cooler lines really really well, you will continue to contaminate any new parts or new converters and transmissions that you install into that car or onto those cooler lines.
If it has that much metal in it, it needs a rebuild because that metal is in literally every orifice and spot in the entire transmission. The clutches, on the bands, in the converter, in the pump, etc. so unfortunately that’s a wrap. At minimum...
I won't say I'm an expert at ANYTHING, LOL, but if locktite is holding my converter bolts from loosening up and my crank sprocket up front, if it were mine, I'd use the glue and let it set up for a few days. It doesn't see that much heat, but I'd...
I'll share some pictures of some cool stuff I found while unloading the interior of the new car and one outside. It still has the factory air damn for the radiator. SUPER win in my eyes.A Tonneau cover! It's in decent shape and a lighter gray...
