92 AWD TSI, Idle at 500rpm then dies.

turns over and starts, shoots up to 2 grand rpm, then down to 500rpm and dies,
will stay running if keep touching the gas pedal alot.

just bought the car, ran fine for the whole 2 days, I had it, started it over day, went fine, halfway done the block it starting running like this and died in my back ally and now its like this.

do you have a check engine light on "CEL"

I would do a boost/vaccuum leak test first. Then move onto checking the Idle Air Control, Throttle Position Sensor, faulty things like that can cause crazy idle problems.
