Hey whats up everybody,
Just need a little help here, I just got my tranny rebuilt and a quaife installed in it, A friend and I just installed the trany and alluminum flywheel, act 2600 w/street disk, b&m short shifter well this is mainly it along with other small stuff. My friend and I did the tranny then I just finished the job. Well the car starts really nice and sounds great, I have the car lifted, 97 gst eclipse fwd,

I try to put it into gear and it wont go. I step on the clutch peddle and move the shifter to the left and it wont go up, it doesnt grind but it wont go, I tried accelarating and then shiffting but nothing. the tires are not moving. Then i turned the car of and I put it into 1st gear then started the car and the wheels started turning before I let go of the clutch peddle. Then it wont go out of 1st gear
My best guess is that the clutch is not disingaging, I checked my slave cylinder and it had oil but could that be causing this. I know its bad and I am getting a new one with a master cylinder but could this be it. Oh and I did bleed the clutch.
Any Help Is Greatly Appreciated.
THanks,
Miguel

did you step your flywheel to the right height? .608 give or take .001 or .002

also on my car my pedal assembly was badly worn and wouldnt go into any gears ( 1G ) dunno about 2G's tho.

same thing happened to my car i think it was a combo of .624 flywheel height TOTALY WRONG, bad slave / master cylenders, and pedal assembly.

I lifted the car again, checked the throw out fork on the transmission, it seems to be located a little past the center towards the passengers side, When the clutch is pressed the fork moves around ½ - ¾” pushing the throw out bearing into the pressure plate, I tried pushing/prying the fork with screw driver to assist the slave cylinder, but then noticed it bumps up against the inner bell housing, not the square part but inside the transmission (around 1 ½: inside from the hole), I checked my slave cylinder and it had oil(it is bad).
I ordered the slave and master cylinder and will pick it up today and install it today. I am also installing RRE clutch line.
Do you think I have to drop my transmission and Install the washer on the pivot point? Will the replacement of the clutch line, master and slave cylinder fix the problem? Even tough the clutch fork doesn’t go any further back. Do I need to adjust something?
Thanks For the reply

Ohh and about the flywheel, I got the combo Alum. flywheel & act 2600 w/street disk,

my 1g did the same exact thing and i changed the slave and master then bleeded the shit out of it and had to adjust the rod on the pedal almost all the way out that should do the trick

Before you go and fix it read this it WILL help. The problem with mine is the last paragraph about the shift fork,bosted91gsk, this is what you probobly have to do or your slave and master cylinder will wear out quicker. Put a washer on the pivot ball.

Would this problem cause a screaching sound when I push in the clutch sometimes? Sometimes my clutch engages, other times it displays all the symptoms this post is talking about. Help.:barf:
