Ok, I bought this 92 Talon TSI about 7 months ago... I bought it for my girl to drive around after about 5 months of having it... she would call me in the morning and tell me that the car wont start or that the car will start jerking back and fourth and die when she drives it and throw a CEL and then once it starts again goes away... Then about a month ago... It got really bad and will start for about a min of just cranking on it.... I check the Codes and it is throwing a 13,14,21,25... I replaced the Coolant temp sensor and thermostat and it is still comming up with the same codes... Anyone have any ideas PLEASE let me know...

Pull the ecu out and check for leaking caps and a damaged circuit board. Just follow this guide and it tells you what to look for.

Thanks for the help man.... :thumb:

After looking at the board .....

C19,C44 and it looks like C14 is little messed up today... At the bottom of the caps there is some corrosion

I would just try replacing the caps first. It will only be like 2 or 3 bucks if you do it yourself. If it is still bad after that, then get a new one

If it is throwing that many codes, repacing the caps probably wont help. Chances are, the corrosion has damaged the copper traces and will need to be repaired. I suggest that you pm steve or visit his website listed under his profile for his expert opinion.

With those CEL's it's likely you either blew the sensor +5 power or the sensor ground. I'm guessing the ground Since the ECT isn't directly connected to the sensor +5. It could be the wiring but it's not unusual to blow the sensor ground on the ECU.
