Looking to run single digits. With a Gt-42 and 100hp-150hp shot of nitrous. All controlled by dsmlink. Car used to be a 95 talon.

Wow good luck with that. I thought this was the finished car, but judging by the stock exhaust I'd guess it's not.

Wow! That's one of the cleanest 2g conversions I've ever seen. Good luck with that one. Its looks a lot better than a Talipse I saw at Autorama a few weeks ago. Some guy left the '95 Talon spoiler on with a GSX wing and claimed it was for "aerodynamic purposes" but it just looked ugly as hell. Why do you need aerodynamics on a show car, anyway? ROFL

no intercooler either....

looks like blitz sideskirts

Wait, this car is going to run single didgit 1/4 miles?

HOW?

I trust this is BEFORE you mod it right?

I dunno i think the injen intake will help power the best into singles. The injen sticker on the car adds 15hp to the power gain of the intake.... and if you don't even have a injen intake, man, your in for a treat

No the car isn't finished. We just took delivery as it sits. I know there are some things missing. Like a motor. We have a 2G head and six bolt block ready to go. if you look through my posts you'll see the internals that are going in the motor. The car will be running a water to air intercooler.

Not sure on the body kit, it was purchased like this. It is fiberglass. Very tough. It has since had a 99 GSX spoiler that the seller put on. It was matched to the car. We have a Gt-42 with a direct port NX system. Not sure if it is going to be a 100hp shot or 150hp shot yet. Most likely going to be a side exit exhuast.

Suspension hasn't been decided yet. Not sure if we want coil overs or springs. We need adjustable dampening rates, so still in the air as far as that goes. The kit is really clean in person. I am not so sure its my taste. But, my friend really likes it. But hea we got the car with parts and a motor for under $3000. So I think we got a nice deal.

No seriously, we are looking to be the fastest dsmlink powered car. It stands at 9.7 right now.

We plan on using a magnus dog box. We are using a BJ's stage 5 head. So in order to make full use of the car we built a 2.0L and need to use this tranny to put the power down.

Thanks for the compliments. We will be up and running very soon. Results will be posted as project some along.

Steve

We wanted less issues with reliability, and look at how many others have gone fast with a 2.0L. Plus to really use the head and transmission we felt we needed the smaller displacement.

I wold just like to clear some htings up. This car is not finished. It doesn't even have a motor. THe engine is still on the stand. Yes this car will be using a Gt-42 and nitrous. 2G head, six bolt block.

My girlfriends daily driver is a whole other car. It will be using either a T-7? something turbo and probably nitrous as well. As that car will be using a front mount. Decided against the water to air intercooler. The race car will be water to air. Just want to point out that there will be two seperate vehicles I will post about.

I built my 1g. It put down 450awhp. Looking to go well beyond that with this blue car. Not looking for single digit 1/8 mile times. My friend and I don't autocross or road race. Drag racing is our only interest. So this car is being built for one purpose. We know what is wrong with the car. But it doesn't have a motor or tranny(out getting built), so wheels and suspension are down the list a little ways. This is how we bought the car. With body kit, paint, spoiler and spare motors and parts, we spent $3000. So no a bad deal. Jut wanted to let everyone know where we stand. I will update you as the car comes along.

Steve

You threw us for a loop with those pictures man. We were expecting a race car like Greg Collier's or Trevenor's, ya know....the finished product. We saw a car with a nice bodykit and were were like WTF ?

Good luck with smashing the DSMLink record tho. :dsm:

Listen asses. My friend and I bought the car like this. I don't like the body kit plain and simple. But it does have a fresh paint job and was in great shape.

Not being typical. Have either of you hit 450awhp or maxed out a 60-1. Probably not. The nitrous' main function will be for spooling a good sized turbo. Oh yea, have either of you trapped over 120mph. Probably not. So don't assume things you don't know. I will keep all the ney sayers informed as the car come along in the next few months.

Whats wrong with trying to make a 2G fast. Nothing. I used to own a 1G. Sold it to try other things. WE DID NOT PUT THE BODY KIT ON.

If you would look through some recent posts of mine, you will see the internals for this car. Also you will find what we call a small turbo. The SCM61. So in no way am I bs'ing anyone. Just thought I would share some good pictures with a legitimate goal.

Whats so hard about building a car and driving it. This is a purpose built car. So just keep your eyes and ears glued.

What about those of us that have? Are we allowed to chime in as well?

Yes. Just don't like so much negativity thrown my way. I am making a legitimate attempt with my friend. It will take a lot of passes but we will get there.

Steve

ROFL

I've fallen asleep working on that car's tranny... And many other things...

Did you purchase it as a rolling cassis?
