Just wondering is a line Hone required for arp main studs/kiggly girdle I have heard some people say you do need it and some say you don't as long as your within tolerance?

If they are in tolerance no line hone is required. But chances are they won't be. You'll need someone to check this, as you won't have the gauge for it. Typically when you upgrade the fasteners it squeeze the cap harder and reduces the vertical clearance.

To measure everything you need a round bar that’s perfectly straight and flat, a bore gauge, and a micrometer. The mic and bore gauge need .0001” resolution.

Damn near every time I’ve installed a girdle and studs, the size and roundness of the bores was in spec, as well as the alignment of the main bores.

Tagging onto this thread, are different ARP studs needed (longer) or are regular 6 bolt ARP studs fine?
