Well my buddy and I finally got around to installing that upper manifold and jeep TB today and all I can say is whoa! On the highway I found myself checking to see if the car was in 4th instead of 5th because it was accelerating as if it was. I think I will definitely be able to get down to a 15.5 with the 17's up front, but Im gonna put the 14's up there and gut the car just to make sure On top of the performance gains the car also makes turbo like noises at part and WOT (and yes I know what a turbo car sounds like). In fact when the TB is opening and closing it makes an interesting whistling sound then as well. The only downsides to it that I can see is my Nuespeed bar wont fit anymore (so it will be for sale). If you guys want a write up let me know and I will show you the thread my buddy made on the Carolina DSM board

throttle body mod sounds sweet, once you hit the track get back with numbers on performance increases, or g-tech it and find out how much it helped. How extensive was the modification of the Jeep TB, a fairly easy process, or not worth the gains, get back to me when you get numbers.

well hopefully I will be able to get to the track on the 25th with the rest of carolinaDSM. If people do want to start buying the same set up a buddy of mine and myself will be selling the modified upper manifolds and jeep tb's (with a core charge so there is no downtime, unless you buy the parts in advance and send them to us) in a little while.

also jeep is made by chrysler, 420A is made by chrysler, each uses similar MAS equiptment, making it easy to adapt to the 420A applications

This mod is better than anything you could possibly do to the 420A TB because it is 60mm stock, and the most you can bore ours out to is 57mm. On top of that the jeep TB can be bored out to a healthy 62mm. We have our prices already, and they are highly competitive, but we are coming up with some disclaimers, etc. before we tell everyone how much we are going to charge and start accepting orders.

60mm Jeep throttle body and 95-99 eclipse upper intake
manifold modified (port matched to fit new Jeep throttle body diameter and AIS air inlet blocked) to fit a 2nd generation non-turbo eclipse. Comes ready to install with upper manifold gasket, EGR tube gasket, purge solenoid to throttle body vacuum hose adapter, modified upper manifold and jeep throttle body pre-assembled.
Prices:
1)If you provide all of the parts, excluding gaskets, (basically the stock upper manifold, TB and Jeep TB): $100

2) If you provide us with your stock upper manifold and TB, but we have to provide the Jeep TB the cost will be $175

3) If we have to provide all the parts the cost will be $275 (that includes $100 core charge). Once we get your stock parts we will refund you the 100 bucks. READ: Your stock pieces must be in useable condition, if they are not you will have to pay for return shipping and we will keep the core charge.

Turn around time is expected to be about 2 weeks. It may go faster than that, but it should not be any longer than that. Please email all of your requests to [email protected] or post it and any questions you may have here. We will accept paypal, but if you use a credit card expect to be charged for the extra charge we will incur. We will also accept money orders, email me and I will send you my address.

I think that is about it, once again if you have any questions let me know.

Im going to the track on the 25th like I said before, so I wont have any performance numbers until then, but the neon boys have been doing this modification for quite some time and it dropped a tenth off of their 60' times. As far as what intake I have, I currently have a cheap ebay CAI. I plan on using it to make a CAI for my turbo system when I get it so that is why I bought it. The CAI dropped two tenths off of my quarter mile time, so it works really well. Im a pretty good driver when it comes to the drag strip so the difference in my times should be represent the performance gains from the TB. I do however need to relearn how to lauch my car. Using the same technique I did before results in way too much wheelspin now so Im trying to find a better way now. Let me know if you have any more ?'s

does the intake fit on the new tb? I assume you had to get a new coupler to readjust to the size increase, is that correct?

no it actually fit, barely, but it fit. We had to spray some lubricant on it and work it on there, but no one who buys this set up from us should have to change anything, unless you have the stock intake pipe

sweet. i'm going to see how much i can get the parts for and see which is the cheaper way to go, and i'll pm you next week.
