Hah, so my tranny crapped on me. Yeah, wheel hop is not so great. Anyway, pulled the darn thing and I'm gonna send it off to TRE. Here are some pics of the carnage... well, the chaos anyway:

Where oh where has my transmission gone...

Pure devastation

But to my astonishment, look at what the FedEx man delivered, straight from Virginia, home of VIPGarage!!!

HP Centric slotted rotors, Goodrich SS lines, ATE Super Blue brake fluid, Metal Masters Pads...

May I ask, why a nice, near bulletproof tranny in only an N/T? Or is it just a basic rebuild?

i dunno, maybe TRE can do stock rebuilds as well. whatever TRE does its probably gonna be alot cheaper than any local tranny shop would charge to do a half-assed rebuild.

Most definitely. And the 4g63 is coming. But not till next spring. And it's just a budget rebuild, but it'll beat any crap rebuild I get around here.

Got to love tranny pulls. Never any fun on Hondas, I can't imagine what it'd be like in my DSM. Best of luck to ya.

Not too bad really. Alot easier than I thought it would be. Just time, patience, and some oil in my busted knuckles, and it's all worth it. I wish I hadn't wasted $600 for someone to do my clutch job in May...WTF

honduh's are like the easiest cars to do tranny swaps on. ###### the only car where if youre strong enough, its a 1 person job.

Well maybe the turbo trannies are more difficult, but dropping it was pretty easy, aside from my face breakin the fall of the bellhousing.

huh? My awd is a 1 man job. Just reach over the fender and grab the trans. Pull it off of the motor and let it down slow. Really simple.:rocks: :thumb:

most of the dsm'ers I know are scrawny little bastards. LOL

I must have missed the Slow part...Gravity took over once I slid mine off the motor and the bi*** dropped quick as hell.

I was like Well trans is out that was easy Lol.

Ah I pulled the trans twice in my 95 GSX, first time for a clutch and second time to send off to TRE to do a Race build. It isn't easy, but it is doable...
