just want to know if they are sufficient enough for about 14-17 psi on my car (i belive they are 525cc)

The "proper" method of porting it is to allow more room for the wastegate flapper to open, which theoretically (obviously YMMV) would not affect the high boost characteristics of the turbo since you are not putting on the 34mm flapper. With that being said people have had great results with this in terms of controlling boost creep without having to resort to the larger flapper.
