I decided to drive the car to work this morning, what a mistake.

Some a$$ decided it would be a good idea to run me into a curb. We were traveling down Telge rd doing 40-45mph, we were side by side. He pulled into my lane (I was in the right, him in the left), I honked at him and we looked into each others eyes. Of course mine was a "dirty" look. He just stomped on it and got his back tire even with my front and then just cut into my lane. There was nothing for me to do but slam on the brakes and cut the wheel. In stead of just scraping the curb, which would have been nice in comparison, this all happened at the entrance to the parking lot JUST BEFORE THE COMPANY I WORK AT!!! Nailed the curb head on with the passenger side. Just got the car home and I am in the process of putting it up in the air top assess the damage. Initial inspection in the company parking lot yielded no loss of fluids, inter-cooler appears to be fine. Hopefully it's just the rim and tire. However I suspect there to be some suspension damage.

Damn I'll be pissed for the remainder of the day, WTF is wrong with people now days!?!

Everything happened so fast all I know is that it was a guy that looked to be in his late teens early 20's driving a blue car, couldn't even tell you what kind as there was a lot of other things going on at the time.

The question: Of course I'll be looking at just about everything on the passenger side, initial look is there is no fluid loss, car starts and runs (at least for about 100 yards total), no obviously broken suspension parts (besides the rim). Appears that the HAHN side mount is OK.

Anybody think of anything I should check in particular for possible needed repairs?

I curbed it once due to snow, and if messed up my wheel bearing. You may want to check that as well.

I hope that guy falls and breaks his leg. Stupid people.

Holy S*$t man,,, I got pissed just reading that,, srry to hear that! If somthing like that ever happens again just stay where you are and tunk the back of his car,,, with any luck he'd slide into a telaphone pole and the world will be happier,, and you'd only have a scuffed fender. But that really sucks man.

Just an update on the progress and assessment of the damage so far. Notice the chunk out of the sidewall.

Things look really bad when you can see the rim without the tire on it. However, the rim looks to have held up fairly well considering.

The "lawn leveling" shot.

The driver side tire. Notice the flat spot on the outer block. Discount Tire agreed that it "could" pose driving issues, but it wasn't a safety hazard...I knew I should have stuck a knife through it before I went.

Here a shot of what $500 will get you....pretty simple, a rim and 2 tires (1 under "road hazard", 1 I had to pay for), plus a nasty oil pan to replace the dented one.

Hopefully this got "sludged up" while sitting on the shelf at the local shop I bought it from. If not, the previous owner wouldn't be allowed within a mile of my car.

And now the latest from this past weekend. The passenger side shock. You can see that the shock fork twisted enough to deform and bend the shock bottom where it slides into the fork. Can we say "replacement"?

And the upper control arm. It smacked the upper inner well hard enough to put roughly a 15 degree angle at the ball joint end.

I was fairly disgusted at this point after seeing that the driver side also has damage to the upper arm...not as bad, but it does need replacement also.

Sometimes I wish I wasn't so anal about this car. It sure would be a lot cheaper if I was a "ghetto bastard".
