Im new to the 2g area in terms of suspension/wheel otions..im buying some ASA AR1 wheels for the car here are the specs...My main concern is, i do not want them sticking out of the fenders like a set of 10" daytons or something. Id also like to know if i need to roll the fenders....

18x8 Wheel
Offset 40mm+ or 35mm+ <----which offest will prevent the wheel from stickin out of the fender
Tires (225/40/18) (235/40/18) <-----which tire will make fitment easier and look better (of course the more tread the better :) )

The car will have tokico illuminas and springs(~1.5in drop) all the way around...

Basically i wanna know which offset and what size tire i need to make these wheels fit nice with the body and not stick out from the fenders (rolling the fenders seems pretty easy, so if it's needed ill do it)

1. My car is a:
2g DSM

2. My wheel size is:
Diameter: 18
Width: 8
Offset: 40mm+ or 35mm+ (which ever keeps my wheel from sticking out)

3. My current or future suspension height will be lowered
1.5 - 2 inches

4. If suspension is lowered,
Rear camber will be adjusted to within 1° to 1.5° negative.

5. Rear fender flange rolling:
My fenders are rolled or will be if necessary.

6. My driving style is:
Street and Strip also Twisty Roads.

7. I have searched for and read the FAQ's, Tech Articles, and threads on wheel and tire fitment:
Yes, but I just need someone with experience to validate my choices along with tell me what to do

Offset of +40mm centers the tire very well between the knuckle and the fender. It is the best choice when using wider tires. Either the 225's or the 235's will fit with rolled fenders, which will be necessary if lowered (with adjusted camber). They will not stick out but will be fairly flush with the body of the car.

Great looking wheel, by the way.

thanks for the help and quick reply...ill get some final pics of my car when i get her done...this 97-99 conversion is killing me...i have everything EXCEPT the damn sideskirts and they are so damn hard to find:mad:

i have those in same wheels in 17x8 35mm offset, anyway i just lowered my car with Tien Basic coilovers today and happy to report no rubbing or fender rolling. Ill post pics tomorrow

i dont really know how low it is cause i just adjusted it to my personal taste. The one with 2 fingers is the front (probably 1.5" ?) and the 3 finger is the back (probably 1.25" ?). As you can see they are flush with fender on top and stick out a lil on the bottom. That is cause when you lower a car it naturally gets negative camber. These are 17x8 w/ 35mm offset and 225/45/17. My next tires are going to be 245/40/17 so i will have no problem at all since the offset is perfect for that wided tire. If you get the 40mm they will tuck in a lil more but you MIGHT have a rubbing problem if you get 245/35/18 if you get these wheels.

WoW an EVO owner downgraded from a 8" width to a 7.5" what is this world coming too

the OEM wheels were the track wheels.
But since i bought these he went to 19 X 9 Racing Hart J8's

Just for future searchers, I'd like to post up this info.....

18x7.5's with a +40mm offset with 225/40/18's, and I have no issues at all.
Lowered on Tein Flexes.
Measures about 13.75" from bottom of fender to center of axle at all four corners.
