3 days... 3 states... 1200 miles...

The basic idea of Rally 'Round The Lake 2006 is NOT a race, but rather a road trip with friends, nice cars, lots of back roads driving, some great sight seeing, one big-ass bridge, and top it off with a large car show at the end.

This year, in it's inaugural run, RRTL will depart from Stevens Point, WI on Friday morning, the 28th of July, and take some nice back roads all the way up to the Mackinaw Bridge in Northern Michigan. We will be spending the night there, enjoying the sights of the northern Michigan along the lakeshore. Saturday morning, an early start will allow us a nice leisurely drive down the Eastern shore of Lake Michigan. Once around the southern most tip of the lake, we'll be heading for the city lights of Chicago for an evening full of nice cars and half naked women at the Hot Import Nights car show! After the show, some
after-show party activities will most likely be in order for a night in the city. Sunday will allow for a late start, as our only destination will be home again. There will be an after-party and an informal awards banquet back in Stevens Point, for those wishing to attend.

Hurry and Register while you can. Only 20 total cars are accepted into the RRTL and its first come, first serve. Spots will be filling up fast. Included with your registration fee are Hotel stay both nights, Hot Import Nights Tickets, RRTL Vehicle Decals/Magnets, RRTL Shirts, RRTL Directory, RRTL DVD, and much, much more! After registering, please send 50% deposit to PayPal acct: [email protected] and you will recieve verification of entry within 72hrs.

All this information and more, can be found at www.rallyroundthelake.com

Thanks for looking, and hope to see you there!

I'm registered. ha. This should be an awesome time.

Also a few tips:
Purchase Triple A Premium Coverage. If you do break down, then you wont have to worry, at least not as much.
I and others will be bringing spare parts/tools so if someone does have some problems, we should have a few of the most likely parts to break with us such as belts, thermstats, spare tires, oil & filter, and a bunch of other stuff that hopefully we will not need.

Overall it should be a GREAT TIME!!!

it is looking a little bit better for me to go! Hopefully i turbo and everything else will be done! I hope i can get it done before the june 17 meet! Just have to wait and see!

Website is www.rallyroundthelake.com Devlish does have it all planned down to every single turn. I'll talk to him on getting the route posted up online.
Wow, I feel like an ass. I guess I should have read everything thoroughly before asking questions. Thanks for the link.

I will try to post up the entire route over the weekend, or get it up on the RRTL website at least.

those interested, I am taking payments via PayPal. As long as it's paid for in full by June 30th, you can make weekly payments or whatever you need to do. Just email me if your going to go this route, and i'll work it out with you.

This should be one heck of a trip! i hope you all enjoy it!

99GST-Racer, PM me regarding where on Lake MI you are, and we'll set something up for you.

thanks all

Will any of you guys be entering your cars in the HIN show?

probably not. Too much hassle. If others want to thats fine, I dont know if I will. Never been to HIN so I am not sure how big if a deal it would be to put our cars in the show.

You know Andy once you get to HIN, your going to see these fully build supra's and other cars, I know for A FACT that you'll want to put your can in the show next year......

imagine: 97 AWD Sypder covered with chineese chicks.......(paradise heaven)
....and oh yeah.......your car is sandwiched in between 2 1000HP supra's. :sneaky:

I will email you as we get a little close to the event, but one thing, if you wanna plan on coming over to stevens point and staying the night at my place or something on the night before we go so you dont have to drive, that would be fine. Like I said, I'll email later and get you my cell along with Kurt's (devlish).

Thanks again and it should be one fun time.

98gstAherns... registration and money recieved. Thanks for registering. now we just need to get the word out and get some more people interested!

I'm thinking like a meet and greet before hand? Like a week or two before..I mean you all seem nice but i just wanna make sure i'm not gonna be killed in my sleep! LOL Also because i missed that last meet!

i don't know about the rest of the people, but i'll be too damn tired at night to kill anyone. so no worries about me, ok?

as for meet & greet... if you wanna make it over to Stevens Point anytime, just let me know. you can crash at my place for the night and we'll make it a point to call up some of the people and go out or something. in fact, 3 weekends from this, i hear there might be some racing going on. i'll keep you posted. that would be a good night to come and check things out.

also, over at RRTL website, we now have some chat forums up. not much conversation yet.. but worth checking out

I'm not going, but I just wanted to wish everyone a good trip.

As a current Wisconsonite/former Michigander, I have a few tips for you:

1. When you get to Michigan, and our highway speed limit signs say "70", it's not a joke: Our highway speed limits really are 70. Feel free to drive 75. And if you see a speed limit sign that says "55", that's a side road, not a highway, unlike Wisconsin. :p

2. If you spend any time in Mackinac City, go to the little mall downtown. There are some sweet shops in it. You can buy swords in one of them. How cool is that?

3. HIN Chicago: Some of the coolest cars aren't even in McCormack Place; they're in the parking garage. Get there early and take a trip through it to see some sweet cars, some of which should be inside the show.

I wish I could go. I'll be in Mackinac the next weekend for a wedding. Too bad the wedding wasn't the weekend before. :(
