Did you take everything from another car or get one of those generic kits they sell? I really want to do this for my talon, but I dont know if I should do it or just have a shop do it for me.

DONT DONT DONT DONT get a shop do it for you unless you want special things like hit the button 3 times and the windows roll down automatically and all that special mumbo jumbo. When I write up my guide, prolly tonight or tommorrow Ill list everything you need, you can definetly get this done in a day, I did it in 5 hours basically from nothing. All I had was some wiring guide, which comes with the kit. My kit also had options for a horn/parking/headlight flashing, but it needs an extra relay I think. I don't need those so I had the hell with it. It also has an auxilary input, for something like a trunk release or engine block heater, remote start, w.e. But you are going to pay extra for those because you need relays or special devices.

I got a lot of pictures and a couple videos. I think if I did it again, it would take less than 3 hours. Hardest part was thinking about where I was going to route the wires and actually getting them through the door.

Also, someone asked me if this is a replacement for the stock power locks system. I do not know what the stock system looks like, but I suppose you can use the parts if they are the same. Doing a clean install will ensure positive results. This is not as hard as a mod as the car shops make it seem. I was quoted 1200, 1500, and 1400, thats average 1300, for 5 hours, thats more than 200$ an hour. Damn I wish I made that much.

I was just wondering if anyone else has done this, and gotten it wired to the lights or horn? The guide came in handy for me, because I'm pretty dumb, but it doesn't outline how to do that. I found that you could wire it to the taillight fuse for those ones, but I'm not sure how to do the fronts. And I have no clue how to do the horn. Thanks for any help.

Nevermind, I figured it out. I realized that you can't do both, it's one or the other. Other wise, your horn would blare when the lights are on, and when ya honk your horn, it would flash the lights. Maybe with a relay, but who knows. So, I just did the lights. All you have to do is tap into the park light wire in the driver's side kick panel (Green wire with White stripe in 2g's, and possibly other dsms as well)

i know this is an old subject but, i have a similar setup(alarm as well,but the most of the equiptment looks similar). I was having a lot of electrical problems and about 4 weeks ago my driverside door doesnt open up with alarm. I just looked under steering column to look at alarm wiring to see if a fuse blew. Is there seperate relays/fuses for driver and passenger side door locks.

This may count as a dead thread but there is an unanswered question so I will answer it.

I did start having problems with this kit after about 3-4 months after installation.

First, the passenger side door stopped functioning after a rainy day. I opened it up to check on it and the actuator was dead, i guess from humidity. I replaced it with a 8$ one off ebay and it worked fine. The driver side door about 2 weeks after that stopped functioning. The wire that I pulled through the door seemed to have been rubbing against the metal and cut itself. I replaced it and it worked fine. The car eventually was junked due to engine problems so thats all the support I can give on the kit. If I own another non-power locks car, I would reinstall a similar kit.

As for your question, you can check the fuses first, then check the wires. The question is slightly unclear but I get the idea that your alarm goes off when you unlock the door?
