After a boost leak check, I noticed my compressor cover was leaking on my RS60T. Bolts were tight, nothing looked amiss, but it was definately coming from there. Pulled the turbo off of the car, unbolted the cover, and no gasket was there. After searching a few forums, I learned that Turbonetics does not put anything in there.

Even though many people say to use RTV in there, I felt I should call up AGP first and make sure. After a quick call, and a little confusion at to where the leak was coming from ;) , I was told to RTV it, and if I still had problems to call them back.

Just a heads up to anyone running something similar; beware the compressor cover :rocks:

I am also running one of AGP's new line of turbonetics turbo's. I know about how they are gasketless but I had no problem with mine leaking. And by the way turbonetics STANDS UP to there warrenty. I sucked the o2 sensor wire into my 3 month old T66BB and sent it back to Ben. All I payed was shipping. If you need a new turbo.......Talk to BEN over at AGP.

Just one more heads up. I only used a very thin layer the first time, and it still leaked a tad in the same spot. I pulled it off again, cleaned the old RTV off and put a little more on, and the turbo held 30PSI no problem.

My 49t does the same thing (leaks a fair amount above 10 psi). I was just about to send it back (assumed there was an o-ring in there). Ben emailed me with the fix. :)

Good to know, hopefully my SBR G50 won't do the same. free bump ;)
My GT12 had no gaskets there so I RTV it before the install just in case, I would double check if I were you.

I wouldn't recommend rtv or silicon.

I used it on my 50 trim turbo because I didn't have the gasket at the time. It worked well. Several months later I changed my intercooler setup and wanted to clock my turbo. I could not get the housing loose. I tried and tried and tried. When I finally got it loose, I had to pull with all my might, so it came loose pretty suddenly. The housing ended up hitting the compressor wheel and slightly bending one of the compressor blades. I bent it back, and it was fine, but it was definatly a pain.

I cleaned the surfaces very well first, which is probably why it was bonded so good. Maybe try Hylamar, its a sealant that will never cure but stays in place, rotaries use it all the time. Permetex makes it. Check it out.
