I'd be scared with no airbag. Looks good, though. How much was it?
Thanks, I got if off of ebay for $120. Never seen it below $200 though so I had to snatch it up.
Steering is more responsive, still getting used to where I put my hands but its feeling more comfortable. The dash can be seen easily as the outer diameter of this wheel was the size of the inside diameter of the stock wheel. Nothing is covered on the dash, even when turning.

Don't be. If you're belted, you can't get to the wheel.

Nice-looking wheel, are the CF parts buttons or just makeup? Did you re-mount the cruise control paddle?

I always wondered about that... why do we even need air bags if we have seat belts? I am sure with a 5 point, theres no way in hell youd make it to the wheel.

Did you get a hub that prevents the SRS idiot light from going on?

The SRS light was always on when I bought the car from my bro. He had gotten into an accident and I had an eagle steering wheel on my eclipse. So I took the bulb for the srs light out a long time ago.

Thanks. The CF parts are just there for makeup. I have not re-mounted the cruise paddle, 1. being im not sure if im gonna bother doing it because I never use cruise 2. I was running out of light and I just wanted to get everything done.

I still have to figure out what I am going to do about a horn though. It has a horn button in the middle, but without the clock spring won't the wires get tangled in there? Thinking maybe of putting a button where my cig lighter is and wiring the horn through their? Any suggestions?

Also I found a pretty cool replacement button that says :dsm: on it so waiting to put that in and ill take new pics.

Oh, we can't go there. It has to do with Morton-Thiokol (the rocket motor makers), Orren Hatch of Utah (Oh, where M-T is!), payoffs, leverage, why the Shuttle blew up the first time, and other politics. Funny how they stuff F1 cars at 180MPH, get up and walk away without airbags, isn't it?

You should have been around in the seventies when they wanted to foist the damned things off on us, and heard how loudly the automakers objected. Ah, but those were earlier days. Thank god most of the seatbelt interlocks are dead now. But instead, we're getting even more bombs stuffed in our cars, in the seats, doors, pillars and overheads.

Funny, but all the crashes I've been in, I've had to keep driving after the first hit. Not easy with a marshmallow across your face.

Have a chat with someone who's had their thumbs or wrists broken by an airbag. You don't tend to let go during a crash. Others have had pretty hideous burns from a rocket seal that was in wrong (see: Shuttle).

Please ignore this message. Old cranky fart at keyboard.

Lovely steering wheel.

It's just the ground wire from the horn relay. We went decades with it in the column, and just left enough wire for it to twist some. Lasts about 60 years that way.

I think that looks great!!! How much of a PITA was it? Nice price so even if it was difficult it was well worth it.

Did you get the hub and all that jazz in the ebay auction?

Thanks the wheel retails for $200+ and I got it for $120. I bought the hub on ltbmotorsports or something for $60 plus shipping. It was not a problem at all to install. except having shitty tools to work with. Other then that its pretty straigt forward.

Just an update to my Momo wheel. I purchased this center piece to give it a little bit more stock look(i guess). So let me know which you think looks nicer?

Came with the wheel

Personally that doesn't look stock at all. Just a plain small red mitsu logo with the little trumpet thing would have looked stock. That thing is hideous in my opinion. However, that steering wheel itself looks hot! :thumb:

Go back to the MOMO piece. Its a nice MOMO wheel and you should be proud of it.

that's actually one of the more compelling arguments against them. i've known people who had minor accidents that became major accidents due to their hands being blown from the wheel by the airbag.

i dunno, somehow i've never felt any safer having a government mandated explosive device pointed at my face.

as for the cruise, what i did on one car was use a stereo headphone jack (i dunno how many wires the dsm cruise is, but the other car was only 3) mounted in the column cover connected to the harness. connect the cruise to the plug and when you plan to use it plug it in and let it sit on your lap. just a thought..

Inelegant.
