I plan on getting a SCM50 50 trim soon and searching for a short route intercooler to use with it. I currently have the Greddy type 24(the big one). The Greddy is fine but I'm looking for one that has short piping and bolts up directly to this turbo. I also prefer piping that is falanged for a hks or turbo xs bov. The reason for this is I currently have a Greddy type S bov and having difficulty adjusting it. What FMIC are you other 2g 50 trim guys using?

Thanks.

I'm planning on doing the same thing, but with a 1g, anyone have any suggestions on our IC's, ive been thinking about getting Extreme PSI's. any input anyone have on it.

I have an Exterme PSI FMIC KIt in my 90 Talon. I had to tream the front bumper alot more than I expected, I think the integrity of the bumper is affected just a little. Also, I had to trim the lower part of the factory bumper cover. I had to order the slim fan, due to the "J" pipe clearance problem. I had to cut the tube that connects from the "J" pipe about 2 inches. The BOV flange was wrong for a 1G. I hope they have a better kit now. I'm satisfied the way it turn-out.

Awesome, no heat soak. F*ck PSI.

They may have a decent intercooler but those guys are idiots.

Also check out BR street cores. They use sparco coolers and fit and funtion very well. :thumb:

Precision Turbo T3/T4 wiht their Core works awesome! The core is super efficient if Im out high balling touch the intake side of the core its so hot I can't hardly put my hand there go to the exhaust Ice cold gotta love it!

I have the Slowboy Racing FMIC kit with my AGP 50 trim setup...It works very good

Do you have any pics of this setup? I'm debating going with this kit or AGP's for my 2g.
Thanks for all the replies guys.

I have an AMS (automotosports.com) FMIC. its a little pricey but you will never need a bigger one in the future. they make them for 1st and 2nd gen dsms. it cools my SC61 damn good. :thumb:

I was looking at the AMS intercooler as well but all their stuff is waaaaaay to pricey. Check out precisionte.com and get one of their cores. That's what I did and it works perfect. With the piping it cost me about $350 less than the AMS intercooler and it's just as good.

An intercooler isnt just about core size. its about end tank configuration and efficiency. Our cores are designed to be the best without sacrificing pressure drop. our 1G core has rounded end tanks not just a flat wall that the air is supposed to work its way around mysteriously. Our kits are priced higher then most other places but I will work with every customer and in this industry the saying "you get what you pay for" is one to live by.

yeah at first i was looking at slowboy's then i got some information on it from a buddy of mine, i guess there are no bends in the piping, everything that is a bent is done with couplers. so i dont know if i should still just go ahead and get it, but i guess ill check the AMS out now too. thanks for the imput.

I'd third the AGP kit.
It just arrived here and I about fell out when I saw it.
The thing is a work of art. The pics on AGP's site don't even come close to doing it justice.
The welds are some of the best I've ever seen. Not a sloppy weld anywhere. I've seen some other kits by other companies and they looked sloppy.
The powdercoating on the pipes were amazing also.
I thought it was a little expensive $999 compared to the slowboy kit $899. I changed my mind once I saw the craftsmanship.

Can't go wrong with either the AGP or slowboy kit

Thank you for the reviews of our 2G FMIC kit. We are currently working on the same kit for the 1G. Expect that to be released in the next couple of months.

agp kit for sure i have it and love the thing. i could take some pics for you later and post them.

The PTK unit is the best for the $$$. Better cores then the Spearco and they are pressure tested.

AGP FMIC here, my core is little different than the one they sell now but pretty much the same.
