After a 10 hour gauge/bezel install (including some trick soldering and trying to make it really neat, be quiet...), using these instructions, i have decided to post a tip for those frustrated with finding the F#$(ing speedometer cable to run through the firewall.

i dont know where it is. that doesnt matter. use a screwdriver to poke a hole through the boot of the steering column, and thread the vacuum hose through there taped to a coat hanger. Pull up from engine bay and it is conveniently next to the tap you make. thanks to Amos for this tip after 1.5 hours of searching :thumb:

Um..... you _have_no_ speedo cable in a 2G. They're electronic.

JUST MAKE SURE
That you poke the hole towards the outside of the boot. If it's too far towards the center, the steering axle can catch on it, breaking the hose, and worst-case scenario binding up your steering wheel.

-Jesse <- two holes in the steering axle boot...
