what fmic is that? the end tanks are huge, it makes the core look tiny. does it cool at all? car looks nice and clean though aside from the fmic...

yeah that core does look tiny. Is that a smic converted to a fmic?

That would be one huge-ass SMIC.

looks good, I recomend cutting out the little top part of the front bumper opening however makes the car look better.

What do you guys use to cut the bumper that won't ruin the paintjob and keep it smooth looking?

i was using a dremel and that worked great but even when I doubled up the heavy duty wheels they just didn't last that long. So I just got a hack saw and put a really really fine blade on it and took it slow, I then got a file and sanded all the edges smooth so that it doesn't look bad.

its an AMS bar and plate intercooler, the top is actually right under the badge.

i live in anderson, its about 30 miles north of indy.

wow got 2rbo you are absolutely right about that "tiny" fmic with the "huge" endtanks. that thing is just a piece of junk compared to yours. speaking of which your fmic looks kinda like a tube and fin ( http://www.dsmtuners.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=45791&password=0&sort=2&cat=all&page=1 )design which is far superior to that bar and plate pictured here. damn the quality of your apex is sure great :thumb: do you polish that up for the show curcuit. you sure did your research when you bought that, and i am so proud that you spent so much time on endtank geomety and flow charts, because we dont want gentle curves that could eliminate turbulance in our airflow. Now i suppose i should not be so sarcastic you are an inteligent person, i can tell from your "built" 7 bolt that runs 15.00 @ 93mph ( http://dsmtuners.com/forums/member.php?u=41796 ). honestly though i would be nicer if you would spend the time to read vfaq and realize that idle surge is a common and easily correctable problem and that cel's usually do come on when you have your cat removed on an obdii car. ( http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157548 )

That was one of our very early cores. it is now a wider and taller core. It is bar and plate. We have made 570 Whp on that core. Dont let the width fool you.

a few things to reply to your flaming... i got my fmic for free, yes it is an Apex'i intercooler that i won from a bet. since it was free, was i suppose to turn it down even though it was for free? and your next question is if i polish my fmic for the show circuit? does it look polished coz it's not... it looked better than i thought then coz i know it's dirty as hell, and no i don't enter my stock looking except for lowering springs eclipse in shows. and the way you hated on the built 7-bolt motor, i was going to swap for a 6 bolt but there was none available from my area for a reasonable price. my car was taking space from a shop coz i went straight there when it walked, so i had to get it fixed (couldn't wait for a cheap priced 6-bolt). that time that it ran 15 sec flat at 93mph, it was when i just got the car 3 years ago (i'll get new numbers for you when the track opens next season). 15sec flat on stock was the average number for a gst and mine is a spyder which is heavier than the coupe. and that last statement about rpm surge and the cel light. i had the DP installed when it was on the shop for your so called 7-bolt build up, so there was too many new things (something you can't relate to) that was on the car that could've caused the CEL to come on.
