After watching Mike Wohler struggle for years to get his 4-link to properly work on a DSM, I'd stick to the IRS lol.As far as the diff goes, on a DSM you can simply swap the internals to change the ratio, I'm not sure the 3k is the same or...

Solder has lower conductivity vs pure copper as well. I've seen figures as high as adding 10-20% to the resistance(depending on the type of solder, the more expensive stuff has more silver in it), mind you that may only be a few milliohms but it...

You can get them in many different sizes for different gauge wire:https://a.co/d/9Mt21qLYou also need the crimpers, these are a decent budget pair for the home game:https://a.co/d/0WU2gBJCut some strands of wire and practice first till...

I've seen many wires break next to a solder over the years of working on cars, copper embrittlement isn't a myth, it's a fact. Some were due to shitty work but others just from vibration and movement over time. A proper crimp will allow far more...

Copper gets brittle from heat, which makes the fine strands break easier just past the point of the solder. Not to mention it makes a stiff spot. You'll never find a soldered joint in an oem harness for a reason.

As stated, just wire it in permanently, you're never gonna go back to a MAF.But I will suggest crimp and glue lined heat shrink, much better than solder.

This is one setup where I could probably condone a COP setup over the oem coils on Ecmlink. A set of Prius coils would be just about the same amount of spark with way less space used up.

The beautiful weather is here, and my galant alternator is coming tomorrow. So today I am focusing on finishing my guages. The biggest problem I have with these custom gauges is the bleedthrough through the black parts. The paper i am using is...

I use one all the time on transmission parts, Master Stages Cleaner2020 is by the far the best solution I've used.Small parts you can put in gas inside a peanut butter jar and put the whole jar in the cleaner.

it also spreads it out so it's not binding up in one spot.
    • jdxnc
Heat and impact. Heat the aluminum to expand it and go back and forth with an impact, if you try to go straight out the threads will bind out with crud for sure.

Looks like the bolts I pulled out of a transmission today, I had to heat 5 of the case bolts to get them to come loose and they pulled a ton of rust out with them.

It's essentially a type of flare, flares are carried in all sorts of first responder and commercial vehicles everywhere with no issue.I've had an Element 50 in my car for about 4 years now, it's never had an issue and hopefully I never need to...
