New year, new goals!

S366 sx-e installed. Switching injectors and switching to C16. Over the next couple months it will be getting a 10pt cage and trying to find a few things to cut some weight.

Also picked up some FD RX-7 wheels for my street tires that we coated Matte Bronze.

Got my Bosch 1300's in along with my 850hp KLM Fabrication 2G direct bolt in short route intercooler. Took it back to Dave Katz at EFI Specialties and made 504@27psi on 93 and 645@37psi on C16, still on the stock block! Going to the track this weekend to feel out the extra 200hp from last year. Going to have to wait till the cage goes in to make a full pass though.

To what extent do you mean stock block? I haven't gone back to the 1st page to see if it's on there. But do you mean stock short block, stock long block, or literally just block?

Also What cams? You made killer HP but surprised not higher then 7500 rpm with that turbo

Stock as in stock 6 bolt shortblock. Kelford 272's. I currently only have EVO springs in there so we were getting a little valve float at 37psi. I plan on putting my Kiggly springs in for peace of mind but don't plan to rev any higher in attempt to save the rods.

Battery box all mounted. Got the wiring in today so I'll be tackling that next week.

Any pics on how you attached the battery box and ran your cables? Looks like we are on the same path of mods. You are a lot further along than I am with getting your Brembos mounted. Mine are still in storage since you rebuilt and coated them for me.

Unfortunately not, the battery box come with 2 studs for the tie down which I have run through the spare tire panel which secure the box and battery. The cables come out the slots in the lid of the box and ground goes right to the back of the hatch and power is secured to the chassis running up the passenger side. Nothing too fancy! Haha well at least you know they're staying nice and clean in there!

Any dyno sheets? What a.r housing are you using?

Gotcha', that's what I'm trying to figure out is how to secure the box. It looks like we have the same box with the 2 holes on the bottom. I was going to use some 2x2 square bar and maybe drill/tap holes in the center to line up with those mounting points, then weld the square bar into the hatch. Was also trying to get an idea of cable routing since I went with 0gauge from KNUKonceptz which is beefy!

Excited to see how your build comes along and love the matte bronze! May do the Evo IX wheels that color would really make the matte purple on the Brembox pop.

I've recently been obsessing over the BW S366 turbo. Heard it on a few cars and it sounds amazing. Yours is nothing short of that! Especially loving all the powder coating you've got goin' on it, too.

I know this is a fairly big turbo, but do you know if it's possible to run it on a stock 7 bolt to 10-12 psi max? Would it still offer any significant performance boost (pardon the pun)?

That would work just fine! Yeah it can be some tough stuff to get it to go where you want it.

Thank you! Yeah the bronze and purple do look good together :)

That would be a complete waste for you to do at that PSI level, this turbo doesn't start to really make power until 25+psi

Finally made it to the track again a few weeks ago after breaking an axle the first pass out this year. I got 3 passes in but unfortunately had issues getting into 2nd gear each pass. I assumed the first 2 passes that it was just me being a little rusty and not having the clutch fully depressed. On the 3rd run I couldn't get into any gear other than first, at the end of the track I pulled over to find I had lost one of the shift cable retaining clips. Unfortunately that ended my day since the clip was gone.

MPH was a new best of 136, it has a lot more in it once these bugs get worked out.

IMG_1272_zpswj0mxlrm.jpg

I got back to the shop and got a new clip installed and also wire tied the cables to the bracket to prevent this from happening again. We went out that night to a local car meet and got called out by a 900+hp twin turbo mustang so away we went to Mexico. Ended up losing by 1-1.5 cars, but was a real good close race the whole way.

The next night we go to another car meet, open my hood to find I had made a mess in Mexico the night before. The rad cap became over pressurized and spit a ton of water all over the bay.

IMG_1623_zps77vewofy.jpg

Arrogantly I thought the issue was from my overflow not being setup correctly so I cleaned it all up, re-did the overflow and went back to the track again. Made one pass to come back to the pits with the overflow pissing out water again so I knew it was time to go home and dig into this further. Assuming a bad headgasket at this point, I did a leakdown test and found it leaking out the intake side. Pulled the head off to find that the head wasn't flat and the headgasket had never fully compressed on the intake side.

I sent the head out to Dover Cylinder heads to get resurfaced for an MLS gasket, they also installed my Kiggly Springs, replaced a valve, new valve seals, etc. Very quick turn around and great communication!

I figured now was a good time to do the cage that has been sitting around waiting to go in so I ripped out the interior and deleted a ton out of the dash harness and fixed up some of my quick wiring from last year adding components. Today I just got done removing all of the sound deadening so next will be prepping the areas for welding and tacking in the cage. Hopefully it will all be done in the next 2-3 weeks so I can get a solid month of testing in before the shootout.

Quite a few updates since my last post on here. Head got installed, cage got finished, parts got broke, etc.

10 pt cage from Kens Kustom Chassis all welded in and passed IHRA certification

Went out to the Shootout and unfortunately had nothing but issues after rushing to get the car together in time. Found out my trans had been hurt from the shift cable clip popping out earlier this year. Had a few wiring issues with my boost solenoid and knock sensor as well so the weekend of racing was a loss. Got back and pulled the trans to find 2nd gear hub had been flattened. Luckily had a parts trans with a good 2nd gear. Of course I ended up powder coating the case when I had it out.

Got the transmission back in around 11pm last Friday to find it was stuck in gear, unfortunately we forgot one shim. Pulled the trans back out that night and figured out the issue. Stayed up until 530am to get it back in and running for a test and tune Saturday afternoon. Got to the track, first pass went 12.0, after looking at the logs I realized it was only 22psi (wastegate pressure) so the solenoid issue hadn't been fixed. Called up Jafro and he graciously let me use his solenoid off the Hyundai which unfortunately did not fix the issue after going 11.9 the next pass out. Thankfully to Abe the transmission shifted flawlessly both passes though so all was not lost. I get home and immediately realized what was wrong with the solenoid, I assumed the output from the ECU was a +12v which in fact it's a ground.

A few other parts got added also. CNC staging brake to help to slip the twin disk a bit, Kirkey seat, gforce harness along with a fire jacket and neck brace. I'm finishing up correcting all of the little wiring issues tomorrow and we'll be going back to the track Saturday to let her rip!
