Greetings, I have been lurking this forum for around a month and a half following the purchase of my first DSM. Everything has gone relatively smoothly in repairs of the car, however, I have hit a slight snag regarding the front wheel bearings. I recently removed the knuckles and had a friend-of-a-friend press new bearings and install seals, resulting in a much stiffer hub rotation. The hub will move under medium muscle on the studs, but feels much stiffer than many I have seen regarding the topic describe it should.
I have seen a few topics on this exact subject between DSMTuners and DSMTalk, mostly being boiled down to incorrect parts, i.e. inner (driveshaft side) seal, but were regarding TSI AWD cars with ABS, which mine is not.
My question is are the seals the same between ABS and Non-ABS cars? The part numbers for the two National seals I have purchased are 225230 (outer) and 225450 (inner), and the part number for the MasterPro bearing is 513036.
Thank you,
Adam
