I got a turbo from a friend and it's HUGE the name plate is missing but everytime I look up the numbers on it it comes up with a t25 or t28 but this is maybe 4 times as big as a t25 so I'm not sure the numbers on the coldside are garret a/r .80 m-24 turbo
1844-17R
I could be just dumb but I'm 99% sure it's not a t25

Well this figures, I never seen a Stock T25 so def not what I was looking for.

OK so here is my question then..
What should I do.

Running a Blown Evo 3 GT Turbo right now and my goal was to replace with another 16G

Seller insists still that it will hold 20PSI and Performs Good as a 14B.

Will i even noticed a difference running this vs the EVO 3 GT I have. ( Before Blown )

Should i just run it for now?

I bet next time you will do your homework before jumping into a turbo purchase. Being that you already are running an MHI- style turbo, it is worth noting the OEM T-25 is no longer a direct bolt-on affair. You have been misinformed about the turbo you purchased. If you are tight on funds, continue shopping for a 14b. It will bolt on line the 16g you currently have, and will mount directly to your intake setup. Did you notice the differences in the compressor outlet?

I was doing homework as best i could but learning all the different types of turbos out there is no easy task plus trying to tackle his quick because my only car atm and do not feel save running with blown turbo..I kept searching and each time T25 was not refered to as a TR0759 and when i searched m10 was told to be different from stock..
Any sites that have this type of stuff listed easy. Starting to feel i need to buy every book possible to understand the different turbos..

:(

No did not noticed because other is still on car atm .. .

The t25 will not last long at 20 psi and the 14b is a better turbo than it. Now will a 14b be as good as your 16g gt depends on your boost level you're running. Above 18-20psi the 16g will walk it without a problem. If I were you, I'd look for a 14b or MHI 16g. Do not get another 16g GT. Those are junk

Let me try to explain the difference. The t25 is what came *stock* on the 2g's. The MHI 14b is stock on a 1g. Your's has been converted to a 1g style MHI turbo. They fire different directions, and have different water/oil lines. If you've already got a 16g on it, stick with a MHI style turbo. You can find plenty of 16g's (small, big or evo 3) on the classifieds here. Or you can go with a 14b. It's a bit smaller but will bolt up to what you have.

Be aware that any 16g that says GT or turbocharger cast into the compressor housing is an eBay special. You can find plenty of information about the numbers on the turbo, as well as the number of blades on the wheels to find a legit MHI here on the forums.

Of course, you could do all those things....You could have also asked here on the forums before jumping on the purchase. We are happy to help.

All i can do is learn from this and move forward. So anyone selling 16G let me know hehe

Who is justin.. Sorry want to make sure i am reaching out to the correct person!

Trying to figure out what turbo this is! The back side of the turbo hits the oil feed banjo bolt on the engine block when I try to run the stock 2g exhaust manifold. I know the hot side is made by precision and the comp has .60AR on it. Is there a extension that I can bolt onto head to make the manifold sit out and extra 1/2 inch? Any suggestions would be great
