My top looked like garbage. I don't know what hell this top suffered in the past, but it bore the scars like a badge of honor. There were some splotchy light areas all over it.
When I first got this car I tried to clean it only to find that no, this will not be done away with so easily. So I tried using a heavy mix of RIT dye and super hot water (just off boiling). It didn't take. It just washed out. Failure.
So I started looking for owners who had used Plasti Dip on a canvas top. Not much info out there on that. I did find a few where owners with vinyl tops had tried it, but that is so different compared to canvas that I really couldn't use any of that info.
I decided to be the guinea pig. Here's the how to and how it turned out. Now yes, I do know that it didn't turn out "like new". That's OK, it looks worlds better than it did. We'll have to revisit this to see how it holds up.
