[RESOLVED] will back pressure damage turbo?

I'm running a t3t4 with 2 1/2 to 3 in downpipe, no cat, 3in cat back tanabe exhaust. my question is, if i put on a silencer, will the back pressure from the silencer damage my turbo? Thanks.

No. It won't. At least under any normal operation.

Backpressure will only slow spool, but with only a small restriction at the tailpipe you probably won't be able to notice much difference. The sound level may change a bit though.

Stock exhausts are much more restrictive than a silencer and they run well for hundreds of thousands of miles!

All the backpressure will do is drop the power-adding potential of the turbo, not hurt it.

He's talking about the removable silencer some exhaust come with. No it will not hurt your turbo physically, but it will disrupt the flow of your exhaust a bit.
