Interested in meeting some local guys.
Here's my build:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/dsm-profiles/shaved-engine-bay-6yr-2g-tsi-build-for-high-hp.11782/
Through numerous health issues after serving in Iraq, buying a house, learning the hard away about cheap parts(when you're new to modding cars you do lots of dumb stuff), shady performance shops, thieves, distractions(started messing with Euro cars, motorcycles, Diesel trucks, chasing women, partying too much, traveling, breaking up with girl, going to school, taking a new job, etc.....you guys understand LIFE HAPPENS).
Just wanted to inspire other people to have fun in this hobby, work hard, and do what you're passionate about. Also, help other people out if they decide to shave their engine bay.
I did most of the work myself & with a few good friends helping me out. This is my first attempt at building a wannabe race car, 6yrs in the making, learning how to weld, body work, paint, wiring, soldering, custom fab., compiling your wish list & then getting realistic, redoing stuff, rethinking your build, waiting a few yrs. & then better parts come out, you name it! I appreciate any constructive criticism, as I still need to finish it(axles, seats, drive shaft, lighter wheels & tires, some wiring, fuel, tuning, & work out a bunch of other kinks).
$20k+ into it, engine built to handle 1,000HP.
(I have receipts & machine shop paperwork proving what work has been done.)
