ok got a 1g 1.8 having problems with battery dying. bought new alternator new relays but battery keeps dying. unhook it when its running and dies like the alternator is bad had it checked and saying alternator is good has to be something diff. please and thing i might be over lookin would help.

Use caution when pulling off a battery cable with the car running. This worked great on older vehicles without all of the electronics that are found on new cars. That is not a great way to test the alternator anymore. I'd double check the wiring going to the alternator and check your battery cables. Does the battery die after you have been driving it or after it sits for a while?

Remove the alternator from the vehicle and have it tested inside the store. A lot of times it will test fine in a vehicle but bad on the stand in the store. You probably have a bad diode and it's not putting enough voltage out to charge the battery.

Or your battery is dead and as soon as you shut off the car it loses it's charge. Running a car like this will kill the alternator quickly.

with the car cranked up and running take a volt meter(digital multi meter) and check the voltage at the battery. it should read between 13 and 14 volts. turn the head lights on and the voltage should remain around the same. if it drops excessively or is reading battery voltage all the time it is the alternator or wiring or the fuse. next charge the battery and check the voltage. right after the charge it will read high, let it sit and stabilize. then check the voltage again. if it drops below 10 volts with nothing connected to it is probablly the battery .
That is my 2 cents. its a pain to pull the alternator specially if it is ok .
