Was wondering how much it would end up costing me, to land in the 400-450 HP range.
Idea's I've tossed around is stroking the motor to a 2.2L, and building it with low compression so I can run high boost. The good thing for me is I have a bare block and head lying around, so I won't have to take my car off the road, and thus can take my sweet time .
I'm hoping to keep the complete build under about $4,000 when I'm finished (by finished I mean, turbo'd and on the road). I'd start with the engine build, then later start getting the turbo and fuel system stuff I'd need once I've recovered from spending the money on the build .
Also, if anyone has any links or good places for me to look for parts that would be greatly appreciated. Plenty of people tell me to just buy a GSX, and originally that was my plan, but my car is well known among my friends, so I'd like to surprise them all with sudden power . Plus, I already put in a lot of time painting it and I just love the car, so I decided I'd rather just spend the money making it faster, and forget about a GSX. At the end of the day, I got the car when it was stock for free, and I didn't pay anything for the bodywork/paint because I did 90% of it myself. So even if it cost me 4000 dollars to make it fast, I'll still be spending less to go faster than I would in a GSX (based on the ones I've been able to find).
So please don't bother trying to talk me into getting a 4g63 instead . I've put it off long enough, it's time to start really looking into it.
