So. Just about two weeks out from the last event of the season. Got a lot of work to do this weekend to get ready. Fired the car last night. Bled the cooling system. Going to put fresh oil in it tomorrow. Still have to make a front air dam. And then I have to turn my attention to the truck. Put the new fuel lines in. Put the fuel tank back in. Do the RF hub and the B1S2 O2 sensor. A lot of work to do. Gonna be tight.

Had a great/busy weekend. Got the fuel tank/lines/sender, hub bearing and O2 sensor in the tow vehicle. But the big work was on the eclipse. Exhaust is back together, changed the oil, started the car up, bled the cooling system. That was all Saturday. Sunday, I made a front air dam, got the car on the ground and drove it down the street. Actually starting to look like a real racecar!

Line Rock update:

So this was the season finale with EMRA, got there, setup our spot in the paddock. Went out first session, popped an intercooler pipe about half a lap in. Came in, fixed it went out, popped it again came in, by then the session was just about done. Went out second session, same thing. So we brought the car in put it on jack stands and set down to solving the problem. Turned out the compressor cover was clocked a little too much towards the block, effectively lengthening the space the pipe was and obviously, the pipe didn't lengthen to match that, so we clocked the turbo back towards the radiator, tightened everything up and went out for the third session. Kept the pipes connected this time and clicked off a 1:02. There was a lot of traffic so it was tough to get clean laps. We made some adjustments to the shock settings for the final session, went out first since we won the previous session, and improved out time to a 1:01.616. Which was good enough for the win!!!
Back to back wins for the team!! Very happy. Next season is championship time for us. So this off season will be pulling the motor and giving it a refresh, some added suspension upgrades, hopefully our own trailer so we can stop renting Uhaul junk. So be expecting a lot of updates on here. First will be the engine removal and teardown. Can't wait for '18!!!

Is that fire from your exhaust! Sweet

Pulled the motor this weekend. Right away, noticed the exhaust valve seals have started to leak. Also found out that a bolt that holds the engine/trans plate came loose and was bouncing around inside the bell housing. Not sure if it was what was causing my loss of clutch action, but we'll be changing the clutch out anyway just to be sure. Also sending the manifold back to Archer to get recoated and hopefully get the stud issue figured out.

My Evo 3 LSD came in yesterday. DHL decided to ring the apt while I was out walking the dog, so THAT was an interesting text from my wife. "what did you order that's 10 pounds from Malaysia?!" Lol. So another step towards getting the car a bit better. Just gotta figure out what axles to go with. I've heard Evo 8 is the only axle/cup that will work. Then I read that 2G non LSD inners work. Then I rear they don't. I need to figure out a definitive answer.

do evo axles work anyway or are they stronger? wondering if its worth looking into for racing on a standard diff or maybe when i can step up to a wavetrack

Out of curiosity, where did you read that non LSD axles don't work?

I thought we had 2 options for our 2Gs
1. Non-LSD axles
2. Evo inner cups (swapped onto axles)
