I have a bitchin' cyclone manifold and I needed the torque specs for putting it back together after getting new gaskets for it. Found and translated these factory diagrams. NOTE that Torque values on the page are in kg/m. Converter here.Additional diagrams can be found here.I found these...
Hi, having some trouble with wiring on my '92 Galant, I thought I had it right this time, but today the relay stopped working, I swapped it for another one and it worked... for about 10 minutes, the 10 Amp fuse for the light is melted (but working somehow) so I'm assuming that the wiring is...
Hello, back again with trouble on my '92 Galant.A couple of weeks ago the car developed a misfire in cylinder 2. I had them serviced along with the spark plugs (they cleaned them up with a brush and a pick, nothing fancy) and the car idled as before, but a couple of days ago the misfire on...
Hi, I'm in the process of hunting down and properly testing and connecting all A/C sensors, if I'm not mistaken, that would be:
1. Air Inlet Sensor.
2. Air-thermo Sensor.
3. Air conditioning engine coolant temperature switch.
4. Engine coolant temperature switch.
5. Refrigerant temperature...
Hello,I'm back with a '92 Galant problem. I'm in the process of getting the condenser fan wiring to how it should be originally, already did it for the radiator fan and it worked as it should, but according to the manual that I have, the fan connector (A-24) should have 4 terminals, while the...
Hello,The car is a 92' Galant with a 4g63 DOHC. It had a hard cold start so I went ahead and ordered an NTK Coolant Temperature Sensor (as was suggested to me in a previous thread) from RockAuto thinking that was the problem, today I replaced the previous sensor with the new one hoping that...
Hello, I posted a few days ago about a reliable brand for an engine coolant temperature sensor and received a lot of help, so I'm back with more problems that I hope you can help me with. The vehicle is a 92' Galant with a 6-bolt 4g63 and an automatic transmission. As far as I understand it the...
Hello, first post here so please let me know if I'm breaking any rules.I have a 92' Galant with a 6-bolt 4g63 and an automatic transmission. About a year ago I changed the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (shown in the pictures, 2 terminals and is located close to the thermostat housing)...
Hey everyone! I just recently purchased a JDM 1990 Galant Super VR-4 and found this forum as I was doing some research. I've been a car guy since before I could drive, and have a love for pretty much all things automotive. I've always leaned more toward the show car world, and built several show...
Hi everyone! So, I have '91 Galant GTI-16V which I recently got and I've been battling some wiring and mechanical issues since I got it. One of my main problems is my weird idle which I'm in the process of fixing (cleaned the horribly dirty IAC stepper motor, cleaned the throttle body, adjusted...
I am new here and hoping for some advice regarding replacing a water pump in my daughters 1992 Mitsubishi Galant LS (4G63, SOHC). It's completely stock - we bought it a few years back from an older lady in DsM. I haven't found much detailed information online. I was just referred here by an Ames...

So my NT 4g63 was overhauled but since the shop wasn't experienced around old engines it ran like crap.Cold start idle were around 600 rpm, turning on AC would go down to 400-500, I unplugged the coolant temp sensor and idle got better (800-1k rpm). But the major problem is it "chugs" below...
Anyone familiar with any machine shops in the Del-Mar-Va area that have experience with machine work on 4g63s? Rebuilding my 6bolt out of one of my Galants and i'd like to have some recommendations for some places that could level black/head/etc.
Some background: Had my engine (4g63 NT) overhauled since Oct 2021 due to leaking gaskets, for the following months I keep getting back jobs since the shop was very incompetent (Wrong belt timing, blaming parts they purchased etc.). So after my 3-4 back jobs my Galant became an embarrassing...
Note that my car is a FWD NT 4G63 GalantRecently there's a rattle at the passenger side wheel well area, it occurs at speed and letting off the throttle while in any gear but goes away when stepping on the gas again. However, changing to neutral while moving reduces the speed of the rattling...

I have a Galant 92' with a 228k mileage. I recently noticed a very minor oil leak, a 5 minute drive doesn't cause a leak but a 10 minute with constant traffic causes a tiny drop.I've asked my mechanic about replacing the gaskets but pulling the engine out costs about $200. So I was wondering...
Hey guys first post here, I recently got my Galant tuned up (replaced all belts including T-belt, spark plugs, rear engine mount). Now I got a new problem, a knocking noise coming from the middle section of the timing belt cover. It doesn't go away when revving nor when it goes up to operating...
Hey guys, after years of just browsing this website I finally made account due to me finally owning a 4g63 powered car. A Mitsubishi Galant GTi! No turbo and AWD which is perfect in my case since I am just a college student and cannot afford to maintain a rally beast, but here's hoping I will...
If you all have been following the build over the past few months, you may have seen my Galant here and there. It started with @Wheelwell hooking me up with Super Street, which spiraled into a bunch of other opportunities:1837 Competing in the Super Street Show Car Shootout IVA Galant...
Somehow, I got lucky enough to have Larry Chen put together an AutoFocus episode about my Galant. The filming took place near the Angeles National Forest in the San Gabriel Canyons. It was tons of fun to make, so I hope you all enjoy watching!
Car runs fine under load, and even when you start it for the first 5 or so seconds when idle is high, When idle settles at around 850 you can really feel the engine vibrations and misfire.
The Galant is running and driving but the vibration is extremely worrying, at stop and go traffic the idle...
Selling my 1990 Galant GSX.
Awesome car, just needing some extra $ for school, so not interested in trades at the moment.
Great condition, and very well taken care of. All stock (minus the stereo, of course).

So I have my Evo 0 I am still working on and I have a breather catch can (wrong type for this car) that was included by the previous owner. I'm a poor teenager that doesn't want to spend $15-30 on a branded/ebay catch can and I don't know how to do any type of fabrication, I know oil catch cans...
I am trying to remove the plastic on my center console so I can get to one of the bushings on my shifter and to change something for the handbrake, but I don't see any bolts or clips to take it off? I checked on the sides and in the middle storage area. Can someone post pics or give a specific...
So I'm learning about cars on my '91 Galant VR4 with a '95 Eagle Talon TSi turbo swap and I don't know a lot about how an engine bay should look, especially a turbo one. The first pic is on the pipe that goes from the intake manifold to the intercooler. My friend who works on mostly diesel...
Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to working on cars but I've been an enthusiast for about a year or two now. I just got a '91 Galant VR4 with a swapped Talon Turbo TSi engine. The the last owner has had a few problems with the car and it won't run smooth at all until the engine is up to temperature...
