HX40 housing will not fit the HX35 so you definitely got the one that fits your turbo. And yes the T3 is much laggier. You went from a .55ar to .70ar.

I would just pull the head off and take it apart and inspect everything. Might as well bleed the lifters while you have everything apart and check over all the valves. Might as well change the valve seals too.
