Interesting, so this likely isn't my issue then. I was just surprised that I would see any resistance show between the two since I didnt see any connections between 17 and 24 and chassis ground. When you say leakage, where would that come from? Is it possible that its through my AEM gauges that...
This is helpful for sure. Is there any continuity on the wiring harness side of those pins? IE does the Green / Black wire have any continuity to chassis ground? My wiring diagrams show no continuity, but this is where I have the 1M ohm resistance.
Hello,I have a very odd problem that I am trying to track down. I recently did a lot of electrical work on my car (stripping the harness back, extending wiring, etc) and have an interesting problem. It seems my MPI circuit is cycling from various interior inputs like my turn signals, high...
I always grease the inside of the TOB before I install it on the trans input shaft. I didnt do it one time and it rattled like crazy, since then I always grease the TOB.
Did you grease the TOB before install? They tend to rattle if not greased prior to install. The other thing is you may need to adjust the master cylinder to ensure you are getting proper engagement. I have always followed this video for reference.
Well just following up, this is what I came up with so far. It looks like it should work, but will update. It is a couple of Roll bar mounts I got on Amazon, and I trimmed the factory brackets and drilled a new hole. Looks clean, hopefully holds up well.
Hey, just wondering what people do to secure their 1g awd rear brake lines after installing coil overs? I have been playing around with trying to get the factory brackets to work and it just doesnt seem to work that well. Any pictures or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Small bits to start, and I have found Cobalt drill bits make a massive difference. I had a broken bolt that I tried drilling out with titanium drill bits for over 30 minutes and made virtually no progress. Bought some Cobalt bits and I drilled all the way through in about 2 minutes. It really...
I dont think the bearing in the carrier bearing is the high wear part, ive never seen one that actually had bearing problems, just always split rubber. I think its a decent idea, but interested to hear some reviews from people who actually tried it.
Appreciate the input, makes me feel a lot more at ease. Just really wanted to make sure the idler wasnt very loose in the case and would rotate from its own eccentric weight. And I over think every process haha, but I also like to be over prepared for everything.
Thanks for the reply guys, basically there is a risk that it could move on me, then the swearing will begin.Do you guys have any info on how much movement that idler has? Like are we talking that it could go a full 90 degrees out of alignment with the hole? If so, then the only option would...
Hey,Just an odd question, but is there any harm in pulling and replacing the Reverse Gear Idler Bolt while the trans is fully assembled and installed in the car? I want to replace the rusted bolt and gasket that is showing signs of seeping, but want to ensure that the shaft wont rotate or...
I would agree, but it looks like the photos of the GMB joint already mimics the factory design better than anyone else. They may already have the design right, just need to eliminate cross drilling. Likely a bit optimistic as they likely use a lower alloy, but you never know I suppose.
Looking on RockAuto, the GMB U-joint seems to have the same design as factory, however, it does look like its cross drilled. This might be a silly comment, but has anyone contacted GMB regarding these U joints, and see if they can produce without the cross drilling? I would assume that these...
If this isnt a daily or a race car then correct you can eliminate the rear defogger relay. As for the capacitor, it helps reduce electrical noise that can interfere with your radio and even the tach / potentially other sensitive electronics. The car will run without it, but up to you if you...
Well, 5 hours left. As of now someone is getting a steal on this, but really interested to see the final activity and if we get a bidding war started or not.
I think its definitely going way past 25K seeing as its already at 22.5K. Plus I dont think that a couple of small gaskets are going to deter people when the car itself is that perfect. Guess we will see tomorrow afternoon either way!
Well this thread went an interesting route. Getting back on topic the bids currently at $22.5K, we should start taking bets where this one will land.2 days left, im thinking this is another one that could hit the mid-high 30's.
Hey,Figured I would share this one as well now.https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1998-mitsubishi-eclipse-gsx-2/This gorgeous 2G is for sale on bring a trailer, and it was painstakingly restored by the same builder who put together the record setting 1g that sold a couple months ago (that...
Having just had my clutch pedal assembly powdercoated, but absolutely sure to mark off areas that are tight tolerance / machined finish. I had to spend hours grinding away coating from areas to get the pedal back together because I didnt do a good job of indicating what not to coat.
De-pin the connector and reinstall. Or could cut and solder? Not sure if that would effect the accuracy of the sensor, I would doubt it but maybe someone else can chime in.
I have shared this a few times already, but check the vacuum line to your FPR. I had a flooding issue and it turned out the diaphragm ripped and was leaking fuel through the vacuum line and sucking it into the engine. Worth checking anyways.
My favourite part of that is that those tow hooks are total trash and would break in two / cause damage to the car the second you actually try to tow a car with it. They put on non-functional tow hooks for looks, on a car that will never see a track in its life. Its ridiculous.
Just getting set up to degree a new set of cams, and I have never done this before (replacing my old set of BC 280s with GSC R2's for my 2.3L). I bought a long block and had the 280s degreed when I bought the engine. The rest of the process seems somewhat straightforward (albeit tedious), but...
Hey,Is there a step by step for setting zero lash on a 4G63 using solid lifters? I havent found a proper write up, and it would be helpful when setting up to degree my cams. All I have seen are write ups on how to shim or modify stock lifters, but nothing on the actual process of setting zero...
If it goes for less than $25K I will be kind of disappointed. I know its not "all original", but this car is literally perfect cosmetically and you will never see another interior like this. Guess we will see...
Just wanted to make sure people saw this immaculate 1g on bring a trailer. Someone right now is getting a smoking deal on this, lets see where it finally lands!https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-eagle-talon-tsi-4/
You could probably find a way to make a tray to fit a honda half sized battery. I was going to try this on my 2g in the past but never found the motivation.
Ignition switch. My 1G did this exact same thing. I replaced tons of starters, and just got used to rocking it back and forth while in gear. I replaced the ignition switch and it never had a problem again.
I thought it just applied to the power generation sector? Although, I have only read a few short news articles to that regard (since I work in the power sector).
I will have to try and dig up photos. I ran mine without any trimming or grinding and it was perfect. I am mid rebuild and ditched the PS otherwise I would take a current pic.
Overheating fuel pump? Just guessing at this point, not much to go off of unfortunately. You will need to start doing some testing and reporting back with findings. Are there any other symptoms? do your gauges fluctuate wildly? any electrical "clicking" noises from relays, engine temp, coolant...
