Hi,
Removed my self made 3.5 inch stainless exhaust and noticed that the flex piece have became destroyed internally. Is this normal after a while or have I just been unlucky? Strange thing is that It did a 9.64 the last time I drove the car...
Hi, just very curious about the Evo 3 intake vs the Magnus v4. Did you have a dyno graph comparing only intakes? Reason I ask is that I have seen people using the stock Evo 3 unported manifold running 700-800 whp (bigger TB though)... I am thinking of switching back to my Evo 3 intake from the...
That is impressive for the stock 4th gear. I have destroyed several with less tq and so has a lot of other people:) I personally dont think 550 ft/lbs are a safe limit for the 4th gear.
You can also setup a boost table to limit boost/tq only in 4th gear. I used that for a while until I went for...
Removed the end clutch and see that the splines in the hub is cracked/destroyed. Where to buy cheapest? Thanks
btw, I will setup a boost cut in software in 4th gear so I wont break it again...:)
Hi, Have an used Evo 3 1.gear gear set for sale. 12/33. Both input shaft with gear and the other gear. I only have one picture as I havent separated all the gears yet. MD747888 and MD743979. The splines on the clutch input are a little twisted, but works just fine. I ran with a QM twin 7.25". I...
It been many years ago, and doesnt seem I can go so far back in my Paypal history to find the excact pricing... he was active @ evo123.net. From memory I think it was about 1000 euro for the 4th gear. I can guarantee you it wasnt even close to 2500-3000 because I had bought the PPG gearset...
Mathias Boldt,Boldt Racing in Germany can make you straight cut 3- and 4th gear (I bought the 4th gear from him years ago as my 4th gear stripped teeths to many times...) You have to ship him your old axles/gears as he machines them and put new gears on. Did not break any 4th gears after that...
Hi,
I saw that FP are soon going to release a Black and/or Zero with 10cm ex.housing. Anyone here knows what a 2900-3000 lb (1350kg) auto car are capable of at the 1/4 mile on E85 only?
Thanks
I dont have picture right here, but outlet is at the very top of the valve cover towards the gearbox side. Stock baffles inside. using a swirl pot/catch can from a Porsche with the breather outlet to a 1,5 qt bottle.
Hi,
When running 1/4 mile, (9.64 and auto) there is coming alot of oil from the valve cover filling my catch can. No problems running 1/8 mile. I would love to have a Magnus dry sump kit, but it is very expensive and need an external oil can, which I wont have in my engine bay...
Have been...
Thanks,
Yes I have to see if I can find an easy way to run 9.00 legally. Thanks,
Yes I was actually smiling 8 hours on the way home, and I still smile today when I think of it:)
And yes it was in Metric seconds. Ha ha:)
Hi,
I put down about 620-630 hp@ the hubs on my
Dynapack. 2.5 bar falling to 2.3 @ redline. Hotside is choking...
Only driven it a few miles. 4th let go first time I floored it...
Good news: I ran a 9.641 pass today which was way quicker than I hoped for. Got banned from the track and only got...
I was cruising in 4th and forgot that I shouldnt floor it in 4th... There must have been something that cracked, because the 4th is totally gone. Behaves just as putting it in "N". Nothing happens, just free revs....
Car is now finished with new crank and new bushing. Had it for a god test drive and everything seems to work very well:) Well, except for the 4th gear... First time I punched it in 4th, it broke... I have read it was weak, so now I can confirm it...:) I am heading for the 1/4 mle event on...
This is how I installed the bushing. Used a punch (I believe it is called) and notched the bushing two plages so it wont rotate and come out. There are already two places in pump housing for this bushing lock.
New crank is installed, sump mounted and timing belt aligned. Flexplate, converter and...
After a lot of Googling on oil pump bushing in general, I have found out that the bearing should be notched 2 places at the inner side to prevent the bearing to spin and come out. I can see some signs in the old bearing that mine have been notched, but have spun... There must be a reason for...
Hi,
What is the correct location of the notch/groove? Should the bushing be installed as far in as possible in the pump housing, or just at the outer edge?
Thanks
I pulled the gearbox today and the bushing in the oilpump have started to rotate/move out and destroyed the seal. I must try to get a new bushing... I see the bushing have a little cutout/groove, where should this cutout be placed?
Hi,
I have converted my Evo 2 to an auto using w4a33 gearbox. Have installed shift kit, Kiggly front clutch and Precision industries converter. Have driven it some miles, everthing OK and took it on the dyno to dial boost and check my tune since it was years ago I tuned it. Had some pulls and...
The hidden stock check valve is still in the hose and is drawn in the picture. It is in the hose from the intake to one of the T-piece you see in the picture. 2 check valves in total. See updated picture.
This is how I did mine with 2 check valves. The mapsensor you see in the picture, is for the brake vacuum only. I must use 1 digital input (OD-button), 1 analog input (map sensor) and 1 aux output (vacuum pump relay). I have plenty extra I/O also in my ecu. Works fine:
You only need 2 check valves. I trigger my vacuum pump if vacum goes over 11 kpa. I use my OD-button on the gear lever wire to a Digital Input in my Link ecu and it controls the relay for the pump via an aux output set to these 2 condtions described above: vacum over 11 kpa AND gear lever...
Update: The CL RC8 compound seems to hold the car without any vacuum pump. I have tested up to about 3800 rpm, and all well. I did install a vacuum pump as well, controlled by the Link ecu. I use a seperate map sensor for the brake vacuum circuit only. I engage it with the OD-button on the gear...
Hi,
W4A33 speed sensor wiring. I have the sensor, but without connector... I cant find any pin # on the sensor, but one of the pins are gold plated. Is the gold plated pin +12v or speed signal?
Thanks
I dont have the opportunity to do any braking before staging to heat the brakes.. Do you have an auto and tried what I am trying to achive with your pads?
CL thinks their RC8 compound will be good for my request. It should have friction coeff of about 0,60 @ ambient temp. They are hard for the rotors, but I can live with that as long as they bit well when cold.
Thanks yes I feel oil can be difficult... Problem regarding what Mitsubishi recommends for my stock 265 hp engine, I feel doesnt apply that much anymore regarding my 700 hp engine with a non-Mitsubishi 100 mm crank and much higher redline running extra bearing clearance as well...
I think I...
I really appriciate your feedback, but when the guy at the manufactor that actually have an Evo 2 as his privat car, claims that their pads wont beat the oem pads when cold, I am looking for other solutions.
Actually in the middle of writing this, I checked my email and today I have got a...
Ok thanks for the reply. I have not sandblasted anything, and have no idea how something have come inside the motor. I dont know how many miles, a wild guess max 1000 miles. Why 20w-50? I always believed that the 10w60 are thicker when hot vs the 20w50? Should I drain the fresh 10w60 and fill 20w50?
