Naturally. This can easily be taken care of with any of these options that you just posted.
It's just like expecting your car to be running extremely well after installing all sorts of upgrades including cams and not tuning. Will it run? Absolutely! No question about it. It will be faster...
True. But there could be exceptions. Not all the apples are rotten I'm the basket. Maybe when someone asks for a custom chip, they can fill out an agreement from of sorts and also charge a bit more. This could weed out all those weird people. I for one, am interested in a custom burnt chip...
Hey guys. Hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
I have some questions. Is anyone using their phones to log? Specially android and for the 1g.. I have done quite a bit of searching but haven't found a solid answer. Someone was developing a from of android logger. Mmcddroind or something...
This is why I would like to try out the maf 2 and see how it is. It's supposed to be night and day difference when compared to the MAF translator 1. Many years ago I did run a 2g with the 560 injectors. It did run a bit lean but it was ok.
I'm now experimenting with the Evo MAF and the supposed...
That makes complete sense.
It's unfortunate that these ways of doing things are no longer being offered. I'm trying to make my car a bit more unique and old school type of deal.
I'm playing with an Evo MAF and different injector sizes and see what combines better.
Once I get that going and...
That would have been nice. It seem like everyone that used to burn chips back in the day, aren't doing it any more. I think it's a pretty cool concept. Just get a chip burned to your particular setup and done. Yes there is ECM link and many other options. As a matter of fact, I do have ECM...
Hey guys what's up? I tried looking but couldn't find anyone that STILL offers this service.
I'm interested in having a chip burned for my 1g. Does anyone still burns chips and is willing to provide this service? Thanks guys.
Indeed Mario. That might very well be the case. Not to mention that every setup is different for each one of our cars. I'm looking at purchasing an Evo 399 MAF and some 650cc low z injectors to experiment with this set-up. Play with the afpr and see if I can replicate what Nuzzi did. If in...
Very interesting findings. Mario, did you check out the link that I posted? In it, Nuzzi reported that with this combo (stock tune, Evo MAF, 650cc) he had "perfect" idle and mid range. And at 20 psi, he was seeing 11.2 afr. Supporting mods are unknown. But assuming that he has a 255 fuel pump...
Are you using the stock 450cc injectors? And stock Fuel pressure?
I was just reading that you could run the Evo MAF with 650cc injectors. That's what I'm going try and do and see what happens. I'm trying to find some 650 low z injectors but it's almost impossible to do so. It seems like...
This procedure is to set the ISC? Did you set your idle this same way but with NO ISC?How is your idle now and your drivability? Does it stall or any other abnormal behavior?
Nathan. I do have a custom "biss" that I rigged in order to fine adjust the ISC that I had. I could use that. But it's also very easy to adjust the TB plate with the adjustment screw and re-sent the TPS.
I'm going to give it a try and see how it performs.
Thanks for replying man!
Danl. Thanks for replying.
Exactly what you say. Thus why I was asking if anyone had successfully ran without ISC. Or if anyone had found a way to successfully run with the ISC and be happy. I have read some old threads where people were saying that ECMLink was able to emulate the ISC, just...
Hey guys what's up?
I have some questions. Is anyone successfully running without the ISC? I deleted the ISC after swapping to a Ford throttle body. I was running a remote mounted ISC but it went bad on me. So I decided to eliminate it and see if I could run without it. I really would like...
Awesome! I'll give it a try and see what I'm able to accomplish. If not, then I'll go back to 450s untill further knowledge.
In regards to the SD. It's already setup and all.
Other than installing the hardware and telling ecmlink where the iat sensor is and the map sensor and such, do I have...
That's very true Marty. But how do I do that in link? How do I tune time to run the stock tune? When I got the ECU back from ecmlink, they set it the computer/chip for the 1150 fic. Is this enough to start the car and just drive it as though I have stock 450 injectors? Or do I have to actually...
Thanks Marty.
Yes, that's my plan. Since I'm new to ecmlink, I want to start very slow with this and learn as I go. So I want to start with the stock tune and stock injectors and simply increase the boost while I learn and get used to monitoring the changes in air fuel, timing etc. Taking baby...
Thanks man. This is great! I will start tuning in the near future, God willing. But first I'd like to see how much I can push the stock tune with just boost. Push the stock injectors as much as I can. I do have a set of 1150cc fic injectors, that I'm saving for my build engine once I learn how...
Hey guys what's up?
I was wondering. Can ecmlink be installed and run with the stock tune or without the need to do any tuning? Why? For different reasons such as: needing to break in a new engine, having an old engine and just want drive it with the stock tune, not having the time and or...
Yes. It is very possible. Assuming that both your spacers are how they are supposed to be in terms of correct size and that you are using the same belt and it's not overly stretched. Then the problem could be in the placement of both your spacers. The lower spacer. Are you placing it to where...
Dsmpt is right. You most likely have the wrong belt size. Try getting a slightly smaller belt. This way you won't have to turn the rod that much to get the required tension. I personally needed to get a bigger belt for my particular setup. Didn't have any other choice. So I had to shave off some...
I know what you mean. On my particular setup, I had the same thing happened to me. So I took the adjustment rod to a machine shop and had them shave some material around the rod. This allows me to turn the rod and increase belt tension without the same rod making contact with the alternator.
From what I'm able to tell, based on the picture and how I remember that my megan exhaust looks like, this is a 1g awd exhaust system , minus the longer test pipe piece. That's an extra piece and not included in the original megan 1g dsm 3 inch exhaust. You'll find out once you get it and...
So, how are you routing your harness wires from the ECU, to the enigne Bay? So you are using the stock wire harness hole for the battery cable (s).
And the wiring from the ECU to the engine bay, such as sensors and all that? How will you route these? Thanks man!
Makes sense. I'll look into it. My thing is that I'm trying to avoid drilling a hole on the firewall. But this is definitely an option.
Thank you very much for the idea.
Oh. Ok. Would you happen to have a picture on how it looks? Like a picture of the wire harness with the cable going through it from the engine bay.
That would be great!
Hi guys. I have a question. I'm relocating my battery to the trunk on my 1g. My question is:
For those that have 1g DSMs. Where or how did you route your cables through the firewall?
I read that some have route the battery cable through the hole that's close to the clutch and brake pedal on...
That would he great! I have been thinking about doing something like this for the 1g in order to bring proper cold air intake to the filter. Maybe using some from of big velocity stack and connect it to a 4 or 5 inch pipe all the way up to the filter? But a velocity stack would look to obvious...
I'm running the Boostin Performance KDN shifter since it came out. This is on a 1g. I had to do some trimming inside the center console in order to make it fit but, I was able to make it fit nice. Personally, I have not used the 1,2,1 and 2,3,2 lock out anti money shifts. This is because I'm...
What car were you thinking about supercharging?
Can it be done? Absolutely! Lots of custom work of course. Is this on a N/A 1g or 2g? Or are you getting of your turbo and going Supercharged? Or are you going twin charged?
If it's N/A, you will be limited to a few psi, depending on the size...
Thanks Chris.
Yes, it seems like the 3000gt brake calipers are not just bulkier but maybe also heavier than the evos which I don't mind at all, as long as they fit with evo 8 wheels on a 1g. I also read that it's possible that the 3s calipers have bigger pistons than the evos. Not too sure about...
