Is this a stock intake manifold?

What you're referring to is the 1G intake manifold, which has a bunch of writing on it - "EFI Multi Port" or something like that. The 2G stock mani's don't have the same text - just a smooth, cast finish.

    2G 300HP Goal: final check/advice

For a 300whp goal, what you have is plenty. You don't need a DSMLink, or e85 or all these other parts people recommend to make the power you're looking for. Guys have hit those numbers on these cars with AFC set ups for years, and it won't be a stretch with what you have.Having a custom AFC...

T-Case Dust Shield Guard Part Number

Gents - bent the t-case dust shield guard and the heat from the friction on the drive shaft is causing an oil leak from the output seal.Does anyone have the part number for the dust shield cover? #2 in the attached image.Thank you all.

Where to mount an external fuel pump?

If I had access to a tig, I'd add a panel just like this to mount the pump. THanks for the help guys.

Where to mount an external fuel pump?

You answered my question - and I think I'll call Walbro directly and ask if their 255 in-line primes itself. If so, I'm going to move it up to the old spare tire well - better safe than sorry. If not, I may have to buy a different pump that works in my intended mounting location. Thank you all.

Where to mount an external fuel pump?

Thx Landspeed. I guess my answer is it doesn't matter where the external pump is mounted as long as it's in a "safe" location. That said, I guess most people only ever run external pumps in series... doesn't seem like many people only run externals. Hmmm....:hmm:

Where to mount an external fuel pump?

Thanks, thought about that when I bought the cell and had to decide on a sending unit... I went with an autometer unit which doesn't have a hanger for the OEM pump. At this point, I'm trying to run with what I have or modify the hanger to accept and in-tank pump.I suppose I could leave it...

Where to mount an external fuel pump?

All -I bought a FF 2G fuel cell, bolted it up and decided I needed to run all new fuel lines. Then things went a little nuts... -6AN fuel lines, new rail and while I was laying it all out, I also decided I wanted to only run an external fuel pump, for ease of use, I guess. I'm not pushing a...

655 awhp 490 torque on pump gas with HX52/19cm HX40 housing

C'mon guys, this is not really a discussion is it?Nothing but 91-93 octane in the tank is a "pump gas set-up". Anything else isn't.... it's "on N2O" or "on meth". Just qualify it, that's all. Lots of threads with "500 on pump gas, 625 on the bottle". Both are impressive, so who cares...

How much horsepower can the stock bottom end handle?

Not to contribute to a dead-horse topic, but .....Adam from Devo tuning once told me the stock 7 bolt bottom end was good for 550 whp....for 2 pulls on the dyno. ;)It's a highly subjective figure, but I'm sure the "stock 7 bolt DSM horsepower record" is just a google search away.

Help like this is the reason Justin has my business as long as he's building/rebuilding turbos. It's just not worth it to possibly save a few bucks elsewhere when you get complete support like this. My DSM, WRX and diesel truck turbos, when they need it, will be sent to Justin.BTW ... RE...

    Fuel Rail Stupid Question

You're flowing more fuel to the rail but the usage limits will be determined by the injectors and the ECU/tuning. The idea of adding a bigger rail/injectors/pump is to make more power.... mileage be damned :hellyeah:

    Eclipse conversion to Lambo....

What an incredible waste of money. It's effectively a hand built car, but without any of the benefits with the exception of a lot of high-end sheet metal work. A hand built V8, big brakes, tuned suspension, etc.... all show, too slow, no thanks.

What to look for when buying a DSM?

If the car has been "loved". Ask to see receipts, take the oil cap off and look inside there for gunk, check the shock towers for rust...it's not as hard as you'd think to tell if a car has been beaten or maintained.

    1G spun rod bearing. options?

Cheap-ass DSmers arguing with reputable builders....good grief. What costs more? A rebuild? Or a new oil pump? When you spin a bearing, that crap gets EVERYWHERE and it turns oil into extrude honing paste. Not good.Yeah, just spray some brake cleaner in a spun rod bearing oil pump and blow...

    looking for nice body kit

Don't listen to the sheep. If you want a kit, get a kit. Just be wary of knock-off fiberglass. Look for a name brand FRP kit to ensure quality and durability. That said, not a day has passed since I molded by rear bomex bumper and no name side skirts I didn't regret it. What I wouldn't give...

    coilovers clunking

I'm willing to bet you're only talking about the shock nut being tight. Were the coilovers installed correctly? All collars and spacers installed? Are the a-arm bolts and all other suspension component bolts tight? I've seen shocks installed on springs without the collar and they rattle...

Do people tack weld the converter bolts w/kiggly flexpate?

Agreed with 91stocker.I welded two flex plates together and used red loctite on the bolts. If the plate break, I'll pick up a kiggly plate (assuming he's making 7 bolt plates now...). I saw ARP converter bolts for our cars on one of our vendor websites the other day, I might look into...

First time I've seen fender flares on a 2g

Great solution for someone who wants to run a negative offset or a 9" wide rim. I'm hesitant to believe the car in the pictures did it for anything other than looks. Aren't most bolt-on fender flares, like the ones in the picture off a 240z, just "bolted-on" over the existing fender? I get it...

So, you think it would be a good idea to spend that "week-to-week" money on a part that serves no purpose other than looks and cannot be properly installed on a DSM? Flawed logic. 2g getting warm...mods??

Make sure you have an appropriate mix of water & coolant but other than that, when it's 100 degrees out, with an FMIC and the A/C on, it's going to get hot. Heat shields, ceramic coating parts, exhaust wrap and ducting/vents can help get temps down - but when it's that hot out, a turbo car is...

    starter help, car is stranded

You can access the starter from the top of the motor - it's under the intake manifold. There isn't any real way around it - you need the starter to turn the motor. It's easy enough to remove in a parking lot with a couple sockets as it's just held on by two bolts.
