It holds pressure just fine. Had it on the dyno a couple weeks ago. Haven't leaked yet from the cover. The paint looks good in person as well I think they have alot more options now. Something like 13 colors.
Update on the oil leak. Got all my timing covers pulled and 4 of my oil pump bolts were not torqued at all. One was practically hand tightened. I got some RTV on the 2 long bolts and torqued everything down.I'm not sure why these bolts were touched in the first place and by who. But I believe...
The center bore is 3mm too small I think. You can always run mustang rims if you want something that looks clean. There are a plethora of them out there. I'm running the 2013 club of america editions that came on the shelby mustangs of that era.
It seems they just didn't like the way the pipes sat. It could have also been me poorly installing it :idontknow:I also have a JMF atmospheric dump off the wastegate that makes it a tight area to work with on the turbo side.
Got my car back from English Racing today. On the 3rd pull an oil gasket on the timing belt side blew and sprayed oil at full boost.I will get this fixed when the parts arrive from extremepsiAll good news here though minus that. They fixed some minor bugs. They voiced their gripes with VRSF...
Thanks again y'all! It was the 44mm I needed. Wastegate is on and my car is officially ready for the dyno. But I missed my appointment by a day and English is incredibly busy so won't be until April 20th to get my dyno day
Installed mine! I have a chiral set... They look great. I would recommend double sided molding tape to secure them to the bumper so that they sit snug. I tried glue first and it didn't hold very well.
Alright got it on and I'm glad I tucked it under the bumper because I never realized how much I hate the look of air dams until I installed it on my car.Install was easy enough bought 90 degree aluminum brackets from hardware store and riveted it on. I bought black plastic rivets to make it a...
Thanks guys... Boy do I feel like an idiot, I guess I will attempt to rush order a 44mm MVR from one of our vendors. Hopefully it can get here by Monday. Extreme PSI is pretty good about returns so I have no issue with that... This is literally the last thing I need to finish my setup and...
Alright so I just bought a Tial MVS 38 mm wastegate to clamp on to my o2 housing, when I went to go clamp the wastegate to the o2 housing I realized that the 02 housing was a larger diameter than my wastegate.I am fairly certain I have a JMF open circulation o2 housing, but am unsure as I...
That's unfortunate. Whenever I sell bits and bobs off my car I always try to include the bolts and couplers when feasible. So you just have hard piping and nothing else? The hard pipe is 2.5" if I recall correctly. There are 2 straight couplers on intake side. and 1 short 90 on exit side. Then...
It looks that way to me too. I took a paint pen and set my dremel speed to as low as it would go and trimmed off some of the inside mouth(?) Until it sat flush with my intercooler. Surprisingly it only took 2 tries.I also absolutely did not trust hanging the intercooler on stock fog light bolt...
The only thing I can add since all y'all covered it well is if you are super concerned about over tightening bolts is pick up a set of metric hollow end screwdivers and use them. They are like $9 at harbor freightI would get all bolts threaded before tightening. And although not necessary you...
I found a gasket kit on I believe extreme PSI when I was doing my head and timing belt that included every gasket in the engine bay including the paper oil gaskets. That was incredibly helpful. If you are replacing vacuum lines use the RRE Larsons kit as reference. They don't sell the kit...
Did you unbolt the CAS from the head? I found that I could not install this valve cover without doing so. Also did you put gasket maker around the CAS? I put a liberal amount on. Although I have not had my car on for long enough to detect leaks
This is fascinating. As someone not even born yet I really dig the wacky history of these cars. SubscribedWhat do you mean by paint defects? like micro scratches or discoloration or?
I agree with all these points. I think we on these forums are already unique in the car scene. Noone in their right mind builds a DSM for clout. I saw the same thing for the brief time I was a part of the volvo forums. The only person I can think of with alot of followers in the DSM social...
Yeah its a replacement bulkhead. Those brass nuts are the weakest pieces of crap. 2 line wrenches and alot of silicone lube and I still smoothed the nut.Hopefully this bulkhead holds I have a nylon washer on fuel side and a crush washer on the top which I coated with gasket maker. It's the...
Jeez that's frustrating! Hope you get that all figured out... I'm not sure how the rearview mirror dome lights are wired in. But I'd imagine you would have to get a new dome light assembly from a sunroof less mitsu and a standard rearview mirror.
My bad 3rd time is the charm. I'm blind and couldn't figure out where the arrow was pointing on the part map... You'd think I would remember what it looked like since I've replaced both front and rear with torque solutions mounts. But alas...Anyway part number MIT-MB844275
Here you go genuine mitsubishi manufacturing motormount from RTMDid you just by the rubber bushing? Because that will be alot harder to track down they don't usually print part numbers on them that will be helpful or useful.Edit: I attached a pic of rear here is front roll stop
Real quick fuel sending unit repair and everything is back together!More updates won't happen until March. And because I like messing with people enjoy my new bumper sticker
"Seemingly reliable" is the catch :p if you take good care of the car and do your due diligence it will take care of you. Just be aware you will likely have to go through every paper and rubber gasket in the car more than once to insure the car is leak freeAs for rust main areas of concern are...
They make various heights. I chose the shortest one. And I agree I was going to likely tuck mine back a bit as well. That's the point of choosing polyurethane rubber over plastic or the HD lip. This skirt was designed to get beaten on and scraped over every single speed bump at a cars and...
I have been waiting for this kit to go on sale ever since Bucky Lasek showed it off on his (I assume) 98' Subaru RSTI about a year ago.It finally hit the market and so far I think only Rokblokz offers this style. It is a polyurethane roll that you will cut and mold to your front bumper...
Engine bay is done minus the BOV adaptor, Tial MVS, and the cold air intake box.I have the outline for the box drawn out I just have to cut, bend, and rivet it together.I was not impressed with the fuel sending unit repair kit from RTM so I will be returning that and I built my own for half...
Well the coil plug area is the same size as stock with the same cover screw holes. I'd imagine it would fit unless you had a larger aluminum block setup like JMF Idk if that'd fit. The only difference is that the tunnel that used to house the plastic cord organizer thingy doesnt have the snap on...
Okay! Got most of my parts... And I lied. I hadn't even looked at my wastegate and realized I had accidentally ordered a F38 instead of the MVS. Soooo I'm not sure I think I am going to email STM and see if I can't exchange models. It's not a huge deal since my English Racing appt. Isn't until...
I have one installed. Should be able to start running fluids through my car by this weekend. It looks good though. You can use oem bolts or the bolts they provided which are about 1/8" longer. Comes standard with 10an male adaptors for a calan style setupAlso if you look at the other AER valve...
Your guess sounds right to me but I also know nothing. My head is completely stock as well, it's only been resurfaced and has the same weld in the corner. I also drive a 97'
Fuel filter is out. It was a bear to get to the line under the filter with a line wrench but one full turn was enough to break the nut and I was able to torque the rest by hand. I also had to cut my feed line because the banjo fitting snapped so RTM will be saving me yet again with a fuel repair...
Hey I take offense :p us youngins have phantom nostalgia for the 80's or whatever you call having never experienced the era. That is a sweet project. Sucks the bottom end needs to be sorted but it's in REALLY nice condition
I was just looking at this stuff the other day. I would try Performance partout and miller first then ebay. I'm pretty sure it's the long metal line with a black thing on the end of it for our AWD cars. Maybe yours is just stuck or caught on something? Have you opened the fuel tank yet?
Update: Fuel is all done. Except the repair on the sending unit. I will get that on Monday. I have the turbo mostly pulled off. The oil feed line won this day I couldn't get any torque on it whatsoever. I will try again tomorrow once that is off I will do the radiator fan shuffle.Valve cover...
Got a few things on the agenda for this week. I'm doing the turbo swap and I hadn't upgraded the fuel system yet so fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, fuel filter, and FIC 1000CC injectors are all going on.Car is pretty well pulled apart. The fuel feed on the sending unit's brass nut was...
$5500 seems high to me. Mods don't add price to a vehicle. The car has 150k on it meaning it is not a low mileage copy. It's also a gst not a gsx. If everything is on the straight and narrow I would pay no more than $4500.A 16g turbo swap is fairly common and doesn't necessarily need to be...
I have gutted the interior as well so if you have any specific questions about anything post up pics and we can help you out.Needing interior plastic trim? Hit up performance partout and miller autoparts they have very good selection and they post pics as-is so you know exactly what youre...
those look like what I have! those smaller holes are where the slider mounts to and the tabs sticking straight up is where you mount the seatbelt fastener to. If you love their logo i'd recommend some glue those stickers just flake off :)
So the seat belt mount is stock location. You will have to unbolt the seatbelt fastener from your stock seats and bolt them to the new mount. It's a massive bolt. I cant remember if I had to buy a nut or not to mount the seatbelt. For the sliders the bolt pattern won't matter because it's a...
