I can probably find one non turbo for around 200 here. I'd probably swap the engine and sell if its another 2.0 non turbo so asking if there are easy swaps for better engines as then I'd probably keep the car.

So today i removed my side skirts and found a lot of rust. The car has no rust pretty much anywhere else. How much of a problem is rust there and is it pretty common in dsms? Cutting it out and welding new metal plate will be too expensive for me i imagine so what are my options?

So found a place where it had the timing light. Guys didn't even knew how to use it. Timing was set at around 5 degrees. Advanced it to around 8 ish. Car running much better, no sound of knock or anything so I think im good.
Update: bought a new Bosch battery, didn't fix anything really, but it needed changing anyway. Next step im trying to find anyone with a timing light nearby. Called nearly all shops and nobody has them

Thanks guys ended up pulling it through firewall. It was stuck very high up the dash so had to cut a little slit in that black floor mat behind blower motor and pulled right through.
Where to run amp power wire through passenger side without drilling any holes? There is rubber cap with wires running through it in firewall but my cable gets stuck after pushing it in an inch or two
@steve thanks for being helpful and understanding and not just saying to google stuff changed IPS today. RPM's are stable but on neutral it sounds like engine is misfiring. There are no error codes. Thinking of changing spark plugs or fixing up generator bc its charging 16 volts right now.
@steve thank you, very helpful. I tried to solder broken IPS, but did a poor job, so now when I connect it, car does not rev over 2,5k rpm and on idle it jumps from 1-1,5k constantly, no matter if ISC is connected or not. I think its shorting. So I will get new IPS and report back.
Hello is it idle air control valve or what? 1g gs. Connector on top broke and im having idle problems and if so can you diassemble it? I tried screwing that white part on top where connector is, it is spinning but doesnt go anywhere. Or welding old connector on is the only option?
