I typically rev mine to 9200. The power carries well. The 6262 car revs to 9k. I usually don’t rev cars much higher due to rpm limitations on the accessories. I think the valve spring is a bigger concern than the cams to keep those valves from floating.
Installed straight up. Shifted the power to the right.I also tuned a 2g that made the same switch from Kelford 272s to S3s. 6262 car at 35 psi. At the same boost level, the car went from trapping 138 mph to 145 mph in the quarter. Our only change on that car was the camshafts. It carried the...
The dragys are not a great way by themselves, but pairing them with other data helps add to the picture. With the clutch deal, I actually have it set up as timed through my haltech and not “as triggered” which helps keep the shifts much more consistent and not waiting to see the clutch at the...
so far I’m not impressed with the t3 housing on it. Speaking with Joe from FP, it sounds like they’re just not a good hot side compared to the tial but that’s why I’m looking to switch it up to the vband housing. I think in a stroker, the .85 AR would work better but for my 2.0, it just lags...
Alright, so I've been doing a little testing and trying to get as much "back to back" testing as possible. Something to note ahead of time is that the testing between the 6466 and the 9569 were done in similar weather whereas the testing done on the 9564 was in weather that was 30 degrees...
Ill post some logs and data here soon but my shifts vary from .18 to .28 seconds. Thats from the time the clutch switch disengages to the time its engaged again. In that time, the turbo drops to around 21 psi of boost. The 6466 dropped to 41ish. Flat shift is WOT with 100% ignition cut. Im going...
Here’s some data so far too. Ive only had a few days of testing so far. Slightly skewed because 9569 was tested on a hot day with negative slope but I think between the DA change and the slope correction, it might cancel out. I can see the 9569 clearly makes more power, but it also drops...
Here’s an update but with questions. I just removed my old .82 AR 6466 and replaced it with a .85AR xona 9569S. 6466 made 50 lbs of boost with the wastegate dUty cycle 45% ramping to 100% by the end of third. Now that im running the 9569S (67.9 comp ind, 69mm turbine exd) im finding that with...
The item Barn Find Sleeper has been updated:Figured its been awhil but not much has changed other than the amount of data i gathered from this car. Making the switch to a xona 9569S really soon. Id like to see some more improvements here!
Honestly, my biggest goal is to maintain the spool factor while hopefully increasing my efficiency. The Gen 2 6466 is quite old so Im hoping the new tech, like in the UHF wheel, will shine with the 9569. Im going with comparable hotsides, .82AR T3 with the 6466 and .85AR T3 with the 9569S and...
Thank you. Yes, that's my car. And actually, I got my 9569S from Josh W if that's who you're talking about and I believe it is. I've heard good things about the UHF wheel but I guess I want to see if for myself. If I can see 50 pounds in third by 6k rpm and make more power, I'd be a happy...
Thank you! I was just happy It didn’t break. I ended up putting almost 1000 miles on it that week and didn’t touch anything other than emptying the catch can.
I know some of you guys are running the 9569S. I’ve got the 6466 and looking to stay T3 for street car reasons. I’m curious if you’ve used either turbo, how would you compare them? Otherwise if you just use the 9569, how do you like it? Any information or data on the UHF turbine wheel design...
Just curious, who here has a high horsepower fully wet block? and what do you make (hp and dyno type) or trap? Looking for personal experiences please. And for those who have half fills and street drive their vehicles, how do you like it? Do you notice any overly excessive heat anywhere? I've...
I’m going to update this post for anyone in the future that sees this. I moved to the S3s. At the same boost, I made 30 more horsepower at the same boost level. I lost 100 rpm in spool up. T3 is definitely a restriction at this point, but it’s more the precision 3” outlet on the t3 than the...
I did exactlythat. I have depinning tools around and reshaped the pins accordingly. For some reason, the 2/3 coil and the 4/1 coil both had ugly looking pins. It’s Pin 54 and 55 if I recall correctly. With the pins reformed, I started the car and maneuvered the ecu back into the radio area. I...
For those interested and future reference, I found this issue to be the actual c-60 connector on the ecu. I can wiggle the pins and the car runs, but as soon as I wiggle the connector, it loses continuity. I tried another ecu to verify that the issue isn’t a messed up ecu prong, and nothing...
Appreciate the quick responses. I have a buddy with a spare ecu that I will try tonight. I’ll will get back with an answer either way. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense but who knows. I’ll find out soon enough
Looking for some advice. Took my car for a drive after sitting since the shootout. Car warmed up in my driveway. It’s been warmed up once before without issues. After being warmed up, I drove it. After about 2 miles of 35-40 mph driving, my car dropped cylinders 2/3. They came back in for about...
Alright, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to measure spring pressure, and shim them to 110 lbs if possible. This would allow me 50 psi of boost while still maintaining 1.7x the seat pressure. Other than that though, would it seem unreasonable to see 50 lbs on a non ring setup? I can’t imagine I...
Anybody here personally running more than 45 psi on a 64mm+ turbo without O rings in the head/block? I'm currently at 44-46 psi depending on ambient temps on a 6466, but I'm a little afraid of upping the boost for fear of lifting the head. I'd like to see what kind of power I can make and I feel...
Yes, I meant lower global (not sure how you look at it since it is a negative number). I’ll adjust my TB to see if I can notice anything. It’s an s90.I had the same setup with a 4 bar and everything was smooth but once I installed the 5 bar, I had spiking. If you check out “the big book of...
I had to enable airflow smoothing because the resolution of the 5 bar map sensor is poor. My 4 bar didn’t need smoothing at all which was nice.
Is there a downside to using the tps adjust function? Also, why may some lock the temp and Baro?
Yes. I will add fuel there as well as add a percent or two to the global to bring the VE numbers down a touch. I usually like to stay around the 99-100% mark topped out. It’s a 6466 and S3s on E85. I understand it is quite lean for a hot spool up, but I watch my temperatures in the process and...
You sneaky dog. Kevin was just helping me out. I posted on Facebook for a little advice because I got nothing on here and I figured I would report back to my original post on here so it would be recorded
I didn’t richer it because I thought there may have been an issue somewhere that I wasn’t seeing. I didn’t think my peak VE was supposed to happen before I hit full boost. That’s why I was so confused. SDVEadjust doesn’t quite reach that far. It breaks into open loop at that time. I know I can...
“It looks to me like it just needs more VE there. It should peak somewhere, and that's likely the spot. :) Right now it's very flat. Add VE to captured values and you can see a 2d slice of the VE table that's used on a pull.”This was a response I got from Kevin Jewer for anyone who wants to...
So for the longest time, I thought volumetric efficiency was supposed to peak at peak torque. I also didn’t think peak torque occurred until full boost has been reached. On my logs, my peak VE seems to happen during spoolup (between 4.5-5.2k rpm) and peak torque isn’t until 5600 or so. Just...
Oh my, sorry to hear. I have a few laying around if you don't want to buy new. But you don't necessarily have to pull more timing out. Too much retard is just as bad as not enough. You can over boost more easily and create a ton more heat in the exhaust which can cause cracking. If you just make...
https://www.amazon.com/Fuelab-71501-0-120-Pressure-Gauge/dp/B00378V6ZU
If you have an 1/8" NPT bung on your fpr like most have, this works great and is a nice little tool. Tuning around it is definitely possible, but so is the fact that you're just plain running out of fuel. Between the 12.8...
Yes. It can definitely cause the issue. Whether it's a bad regulator or boost source feeding the regulator. If you have access, take a compressor and apply pressure to the regulator, and verify that it rises 1:1. If you can add 25 psi and the gauge reads the correct pressure accordingly(probably...
I'm trying to dial in my AFR before I start turning things up but it seems that there's a lean spot during spool up. I'm not sure how to approach this without creating a map that jumps around. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Where do I even start?
https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/basic-dsmlink-tuning-guide.262460/
Also would like to add this tuning guide. When I first started tuning, I printed out the document in this thread and always left it in my car. It runs you through set by step setting parameters and...
I'm not sure if you have yet, but there's very little information given in the log. Have you updated the ecu firmware recently? I'm not seeing a direct access tab. From what I'm seeing though, there's a bit of work to be done on getting the AFRest and your wideband to line up. It also seems that...
I was wondering how those of you with large cams like kelford 280's and up set your base timing? I run S3s and I have found it a difficult to get my car to idle low since base timing is supposed to be set around 750 rpm with the timing pin grounded. I usually get it down about 850 or so. I HAVE...
I called my machine shop and they recommended a thread sealant with ptfe or just ptfe tape itself. I used both options on visible allens just to see if it would work since I too had some work done somewhat recently. So far, neither of them have started leaking. Heres the stuff I used...
There should be a white wire right next to the spot where the wideband is currently in the ecu. That's your rear O2. Pin 75. http://www.dsmlink.com/images/forums/2GECUPinout.pdf
If you're not looking to use the front O2 sensor, it may be beneficial to swap the pins in the ecu plug so you don't...
I'm currently tossing around the idea of swapping for S3's in my 6466 build, and wondering what everyone else thinks of this idea. This is a drag car/weekend warrior, so I'm definitely not dailying it. I see strokers commonly paired with large cams since they have more displacement, but I don't...
The video doesn't show or sound like much is going on. Also ignore the fact that its running rich on WOT. It was just an experiment that didn't change much of anything. The video starts around the 325 second mark in the log. If you look, youll see the rpm in the log spike. It seems to affect...
BLT showed only a little throttle body leakage at 25+psi, I verified mechanical timing myself (5* BTDC), and base fuel pressure is 43 psi. I apologize as far as the maf comp not being inline with actual AFR. I only have a couple of my friend's logs and that night we were changing tons of things...
What could be causing a random misfire? It seems that the only time the car starts to knock is once it misfires. We've replaced the plugs(Br7es gapped at .026), wires(stock 7mm), ignition coil, TB, different injectors(450s, 560s, and 1000s) battery(XS deep cycle) and voltage doesn't seem to make...
Just an update as to whats going on with my box. I just called Dynatek. I sent my cdi and tach adapter in to them and it got there yesterday. I talked with Scott again and he said my cdi and the tach adapter tested out fine. I told him I know the tach adapter is bad since I swapped mine out with...
I got mine from extreme psi. $109 for the harness and $265 for the box. I took mine for a spin without the tach and it worked great. I pushed 29 psi cleanly without breakup with .028 gap. Any more and it would breakup. I didn't test much because I want my tach to work before I go crazy.
I will try that. I hope it's enough proof for them if it is on their end.I will call again after I test brads idea. I'll also see if I can source one from a local just to test things out. Thank you for the reference
I know this is an old thread and I'm really going out on a limb, but would anyone, specifically GSXftw have any information/rmas/numbers that I could reference to Dynatek so they could see what I'm going through? I have the exact same issue with the 2 cylinders cutting out on startup and I...
