Thermal. Just what I had on hand.

AEM help with AEM Infinity Idle issues

Hey everyone. Thanks again for helping me get this sorted. I built a leak tester out of a balloon and an old vape. It looked like a large leak was coming from the bottom of the manifold where the gasket seals. When I pulled off the intake this is what I found. Must've been an installation...

2G New 7 bolt build Low Oil Pressure

Wow! I've never seen oil pressure logs before. I'm sure that will be very helpful to anyone that is worrying about their numbers.

AEM help with AEM Infinity Idle issues

Thank you DSMPT and bastarddsm. I'm pretty sure I'm uploading my log file with this. The major changes in Lambda were caused by me making major adjustments to the idle VE table during the log, I also changed the idle base position from 30 to 5 over the course of this log. I'm pretty sure my...

AEM help with AEM Infinity Idle issues

I haven't done a leak test, I don't believe I have the equipment to. I am thinking vac leak could be the culprit because the car used to idle nicely on pretty much the same setup (just 8.5:1 pistons), in pretty much the same weather, and the exact same ECU settings. However, upon first startup...

2G New 7 bolt build Low Oil Pressure

Yeah, a slight correction there (the gauge I was using tends to get a little stuck around 50psi) after a couple more startups, it unstuck and I was seeing 75psi on cold idle.

AEM help with AEM Infinity Idle issues

Hello everyone. I am trying to get my car to idle decently (2.0L, 9.0:1 pistons, eagles, FIC850 Injectors) I want to insert my most recent log file, but I don't know if I can here. What I'm dealing with is very lean rough idle. I've turned off idle, and lambda feedback, and ign trims, and am...

2G New 7 bolt build Low Oil Pressure

I appreciate the help very much. I swapped my turbo and gauge feed locations so now my turbo is getting oil through the stock head feed, and my gauge is down on the OFH. I saw 40 psi cranking and over 50 at idle.

2G New 7 bolt build Low Oil Pressure

Thank you very much. I knew I took that apart for a reason. I'll make a T off my current turbo feed, which comes from the OFH and check pressure there.

2G New 7 bolt build Low Oil Pressure

Update, so I really have no idea how the oil pressure relief valve works, I'm trying to figure it out. But I think I did something brainless when putting things together, which is causing my problem. This is what my relief valve looks like when I pulled it.I'm assuming having things...

2G New 7 bolt build Low Oil Pressure

I know I'll probably get poached for this, but I need some help figuring out my situation. I've got a fresh built 7 bolt 2.0l Supertech pistons and eagle rods. I'm positive all of my bearing clearances are great! (0.0028 on rods 0.0025 on mains) I have low oil pressure at cold idle (haven't run...

    2G Blew a headdy.

Thanks for all the advice everyone! Just thought I'd share what I've found. My head gasket looked like it's been there since the factory when I pulled it apart. It's only been on a few months and hasn't gone through a single heat cycle but it's falling apart. I could'nt identify exactly where...

Thanks for all the replies.in that case I'll probably leave the oil pump on for now. I'll cut open the oil filter though. I'm on a bit of a timeline with this car and would be best to make due with what I have on hand. I should have the head gasket done today assuming the head and block are...

Sounds like a good call. By compromised you mean flakes of metal and debris? I doubt it could be out of spec after so little operation. Is a fairly fresh oil pump gasket reusable? I don't think I have an extra.

AEM [Resolved] Kiggly 12T + AEM infinity spark timing way off, Help!

That was what I kinda thought. I think you can set the minimum increment but I just left it default which I guess is 0.1. It would make sense to go by whole teeth then do the fine adjustment with the ignition sync, but I was using the slider and just happened to get it within a degree or 2 at...

    2G Blew a headdy.

I would be stoked if it was just an oil cooler, unfortunately I have no oil cooler. Its currently just looped between the two ports, I eliminated the water to oil "cooler" as I never got another one after my last bearings flowed through that thing. I'll be getting an air to oil cooler as soon as...

Hey everybody. Man this car is nothing but issues. Thanks to the wise help of some community members here I got it started for the first time after rebuilt today. Everything was going good. 20ish degrees of timing. Idling a little high, at about 2000rpm. Leaned out the AFRS a little as I was...

Thank you! I spent all day yesterday trying to find if there was a cam sync option in the infinity like that. That's exactly what I was hoping I could do. I'll try that out today. Hey everybody. I'm desperately trying to get the 2g 95 TSI going after rebuilt here. I installed the kiggly 12t trigger disk in order to resolve the difficult starting/misfiring issue. Thanks! I've installed the kiggly kit now, and modified my cam sensor. I found pretty quickly where to change the settings in the infinity software. Supertech diesel oil for break-in

Hey guys. I'm hoping to get my car started here for the first few times after being rebuilt. I'm going to go for rotella 15W-40 deisel oil for the first 1000km or so driving. I may continue using it after or switch to a synthetic 5W-40.Because this rebuild was necessitated by a glittery flow...

I've been searching around, and I understand why I need the 12T trigger plate, but I can't figure out why or how I have to modify the cam sensor. Mine reads off the cam gear. Do I need a different CAS setup? Do I cut a tooth off my cam gear?Edit: I found this thread where it is explained to...

So I think I learned by trial and error, but maybe didn't take enough time. I got this thing running pretty good 3 years ago, but it never started easily. Timing skipped while working on my car?

If anything too much torque. I checked against my photos before I loosened it and it hadn't changed angle. I'll torque it properly this time for sure though. I did turn it backwards a little bit, to realign the gears if I went past, maybe just in messing with the pulleys and belts. Through all...

Artificial Oil Pressure For First Startup

Thanks for the link. I wouldn't PVC and JB weld for a permanent unit, but I'm only going to MAX 50 psi with this thing. I figure I just need roughly idle oil pressure for startup. The JB weld should hold. It's holds air. But a container that could explode deisel oil all over my shop is...

Timing skipped while working on my car?

Hey guys, so I'm pretty perplexed by this. I double and triple checked my timing and tension as I was putting my motor together. Turning the motor many times. The tensioner was such that the pin slid in and out freely. (And yes I removed it before installing the cover.)I checked it again...

Artificial Oil Pressure For First Startup

Hey guys. I didn't realize this thread was getting more attention. I guess an accumulator is a good term for it, I wasn't sure what to call it. Should I consider this turbo trashed?

Thanks for the input guys! That's exactly what I was thinking. Those look suspiciously like main or rod bearing shavings. If that's possibly the case and the shaft play is literally not noticeable, I think I will run it with a filter for now, and order a rebuild kit. But I was thinking I...

So, I bought this turbo used a couple years ago for this car before my engine failed. I am told its an h HX35 but it's missing it's badge. I'm now getting everything put back together and buttoned up, and one of the last things I wanted to do was clean out all where the oil goes incase the...

I took this motor apart like 2 years ago and I lost my old housing with all the sensors attached still.
