UPDATE: The problem has been solved. I really appreciate all you guys replying. And yes, I do know megasquirt and larger injectors would be ideal, I'm just not that financially stable if you know what I mean hahahaIf anyone else has a similar problem with their boosted 420a, my solution lied...
Yes my fuel pump is the high pressure version. I am hoping that is why my idle and cruise fuel pressure is 60 psi.As for the FCD, the adjusting pin doesn't seem to actually change anything. Since installation it has limited the car to 4000 RPMs and no matter how much I adjust the pin it does...
@dustyboner I believe i have the OBX FMU, in which case i dont think it allows you to adjust base fuel pressure. given that, is there any reason why my fuel pressure is always 60 psi? is it because of the FMU? Unfortunately I do not know what the fuel pressure was like before all this turbo stuff...
Thank you dustyboner. The link you provided for new diaphragms is from vortech. If I needed a replacement, would those replacement diaphragms still work on my FMU despite it not being a Vortech FMU?
The thing is the car was running fairly decent before the FCD was installed. It would occasionally stutter and jerk at cruising speeds and thats why I got the FCD in the first place, but since the day I turboed it the car runs lean under WOT which i'm assuming is because of a malfunction of the...
Hey yall, I got my boosted 420a here and I have a few questions based on the shitty situation I'm in. I'm running a basic, aged 5 psi setup:
T3/T4 turbo
FMIC
12:1 FMU
255lph walbro
DSP Electronics FCDAs of right now the car is running shitty. I drove the car with a fuel pressure gauge hooked...
I didn't want to resurrect this thread, but I just have to ask one more question. Turbosmart offers a pneumatic FCD and an electronic one. The pneumatic one is a lot cheaper, does anyone have any experience with it? It says it's "to be used in conjunction with the Turbosmart boost controller"...
Aww shieeett. Well thanks for the reply. Us 420a guys are losing alot of our part sources eh :(Could someone else that's doing a light "8 lb" build shed some light on how I should combat my fuel cut? The only way I see now is either the HKS or Turbosmart FCD's. Has anyone used these and can...
Hey all. So I just recently boosted my 99 eclipse 420a, and I obviously need something to prevent fuel cut as you guys all probably know already. I was not keen on getting the Missing Link due to the potential troubles it can bring. I wanted to get the Symtech Labs FCD but unfortunately...
Well this is a new discovery for me. I bought the eclipse used so I guess the original owner put in aftermarket lights? They don't look any different than the OEM ones. Anyways could I still go about installing these HIDs or have I just threw myself into a hole?
I'm sorry but something is still not making sense. That bulb you uploaded looks nothing like my stock headlight bulb. In my first picture I have captured the back of my headlight housing. you can see the rubber grommet which accesses the bulb. The other two pictures are front and back views of...
Isn't that exactly what the issue was? They don't connect to each other. Pictures would be greatly appreciated, as I may just be misunderstanding the situation at hand.
Not sure what you need to see but I took pictures of how I believe the connection should be. Feel free to point out where I am wrong. In the first pic, I have one bulb set up to how I believe the connections go. I have 3 circles indicating where the connections are made. The red one represents...
So installing an HID kit should be a walk in the park right? Well that was most definitely not the case when I tried installing my HID kit. I read and watched how to install them and I will say it looks pretty easy. When I went about installing mine I came across an issue. The plug that connects...
So I recently bought a used 2G Mitsubishi Eclipse and the radio was taken out by the owner along with the factory amp which is located under the passenger seat. I bought all the stuff for a new stereo(aftermarket headunit, aftermarket amplifier, wiring kit etc) and when I hooked up just the...
