BTW, I don't think you are going back here any time soon, but just in case, if you could paste a link to your new rx7 build, I would be very hapy to read it !
OMG... I unfortunately found your build today and read it all in a row...I wish I was here to buy your DSM when you let it go, sooo perfect.I ll try to do the best I can with mine, thanks again for the ideas you gave me and the awesome reading !
Yeah definitly, I knew nothing about mechanics or dsm before becoming member of this site;)
I am still learning everyday, I just love looking around this site!
It is so awesome to become part of this community.
Bringing back an old thread but I really really need to find those...
Does anyone has an idea of what are those 2 rear bumper bolt lip, fender flare and in the meantime what are this eclipse tire/ rims size?I am looking everywhere but I cant find anything (especially rear bumper lip)
I understand what you mean, but this car is not daily driven.
it is just as I told in past post that I have have to look after kids as well, so if it is a 1 week project I can begin it during summer vacation when kids are not at home.
If it is a 1month project I'll have to let the car dismantled...
How long did it take to remove all bolt on parts from your engine?
I am now buying new bov, piping, vacuum hoses etc. so i am thinking doing the painting when everything arrives.I just need time now...
If you could give me an idea of how long it took ;)Really well done!!
I was thinking puting that on my car:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/260897369603?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITDo you think it is real?
Also no flange included does anyone knows how hard it is to adapt? I am still on OEM pipes. Also I am still hesitating with the ngr...
I am running 18x8.75+35, tires are 215/40 no rubbing at all, but you will have the hellaflush look. Some here hates that so it is up to you (See my pics).
I think you can go up to 235 for tires without rubbing depending of course how low you are.Keep in mind that rear rims still inside the...
Just going to bring back this thread coz' (I am pretty sure almost everyone on this thread already seen that) but I found recently those flares on ebay...
Waouh, I just read you write up.
Really awesome work !!!! I wish I had your skills.Regarding the bay painting, how did you prepare it? What did you remove from the bay?
I am trying to compare your pics, but I may miss something.
Thank you !
I am glad it could give you some idea. Now I have to find time to do it lol
I have to do it while watching after 3 kids O.oAlso in the mean time I am thinking of painting the valve cover (covered with white rust), throttle boby, strut bar and changing some pipes/ hoses as well.
Thank you soo much. You helped lot more than I expected.
I am also going to dig even more online!Actually I don't plan on keeping the same color.
Body was repaint white but the bay is still red....
So I think I'll go white or maybe black.Thank you again!
Thanks for the explanation!! Makes a lot of sense.
I was thinking the same when I compared with my engine bay but I hoped taking off some big parts would give me more clearance... Not that much then :(By scuffing the paint you mean removing the red layer ? How do I know I should not l go...
Hi everyone!I know I am going to be flamed, but let me explain (I know it won't excuse anything but still)
I am living in Japan with a garden big enough to put 2 cars on, not more. No roof for the car, and no friends who own a garage and can help me with that.
So I have no way of taking the...
Similar problem on my GST 1995.
Sometimes turn signal stops working after a few seconds, and if I am lucky work again after another few seconds.I tried to turn on hazard, exactly the same.
When turn signal doesn't work, hazard and arrow on dashboard don't work neither.Any idea?
Thank you for your answers !XXR concave design is a little bit tricky... I heard they doesnt fit brembos if the size is not at least 8.75+20...I kept looking on the net for info about that, and most of the makers are providing printable drawing of the caliper/rotor so you can check if they...
Thanks!Yeah your impreza is a pretty famous car, but recently I don't see that much of them... Most of Japanese have this strange habit of not keeping cars when they got over 60.000 miles... Maybe changing the timing belt is too much work ;)
Does anyone have by any chance a list of big brake (Brembo "no", Ideal, endless, stop tech, willwood etc?) I can use with XXR527 18x8.75 +35?I don't care (that much) about performance since it is mainly visual, and they will be obviously better than stock brakes.
Also I am not here to hear...
OK, what if, you already have an afermarket front bumper, and an unpaint 2gb at home.
Would you first paint/install 2gb bumper, or keep the aftermarket front bumper and use the money to begin engine mods (I am thinking first of BOV, piping, fuel pump etc)my actual front bumper is the battle z...
Thank you very much !
Yeah When I checked some Japanese car blogs, I could find only less than 15 (I can't remember exactly) 2g dsm listed in all Japan, and absolutly no AWD lolHere only car maniacs recognize it. Lots of local thinks at first look it is a customized Nissan Silvia S15 or...
She just looks beautifull!
Do you have by any chance pictures of the inside of rear fender?
I would like to have an idea on how much i can hammer it ;)
I understand what you mean. Of course security is very important, but after googling it I couldn't find that much problem about xxr... Only reputation is bad but no number or data...
Anyway I am going to be carefull when driving.
I don't do race anyway :)Thank you for the advice !Regarding...
I checked how it fits by trying googling it, and in this thread.
I stretched a little bit coz I don't want to rub, and want to be low.
So I am running now 18x8.75+35 with 215/40.
I know thoses tires are tinny but I like the look and I don't do drag so I am fine with that :)And I agree with you...
Yes ! And thank you again for the advises !
Very happy with the looking. I just want to go down as much as I can now ;) I am maybe going to hammer the inside of rear fender to give more room to the tires.
Sorry for my double post, another 2 points i would like to check.1- I have kind of low budget so are fender moles (like those: http://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/zerowin/fm-w100.html?sc_e=slga_pla) going help me to clear the poke out of 18x8.75+35 ? these are 9mm width
(Keltalon since you have...
Thanks for sharing !!
That looks pretty awesome !
I remember your post, you are running 8.75+20 right ?
I was thinking going +35 less concave but should fit better within the fenders ;)No, I married a Japanese woman and we are living here now .
Thanks for your replies !
Keltalon > Yeah I think I ll try them, I am going to be stretched but I have no choice ;)
I took a look at the picture but difficult to judge... Do you have any pic from the top so I can see how it fits?LandoAWD > It is esthetic LOL ;) I used to run BBS, but I didn't...
Hey Keltalon!
I am planning on ordering the same rims, same size.
I am driving my car daily but here in Japan I must keep the wheels within the fenders, so could you confirm me if they will be ok.
Or should I try to go with thinner tires like 215 maybe? Thanks !
Many thanks to all of you !
I really appreciate !
I dont think i still have the bumper reinforcement but I am going to try without it in the worst case ;)Can't wait to have it done!!!
I already check old post about bumper switch and everyone says it what easy but I have an additional question:
I found an 99 front bumper cover to be put on my 95 gst, but I was told I cannot use it without bumper reinforcement.
I already changed my front bumper long time ago with F&F bumper (I...
Thank you very much !!
danielsl1999gsx; Your setup looks very cool! And you are running huge tires !
99ECLIPSEGSXDS I am going to try a search for the thread you are talking about!
Thanks to you 2, I am pretty sure now I am going with 18x9.75+20!
large rims looks awesome !
;)
Well I am not worrying about poke, I love it actually, but what I fear is rubbing...
I live in a place full of narrow mountain road with lots of curb, so I dont want to damage tires and fenders each time I am driving :)
Thank you for the reply !
Do you mean with 9.75+20 (225/40 tires) it will fit ? How so? I have very poor knowledge about that...
Actually it could be very cool if I could go this way ! ;)
