I will advice to go thru all the electrical carefully as I had very similar issue. I am still jn the process of fuse box and battery reloaction but I wanted to start the car but it would not. I learned that I had too much voltage drop coming to my aem boost gauge, which I am using for speed...
I both that kit with both bushings. Unfortunately I am in the process of relocating my fuse box with the battery to the trunk so my car is down for the moment and the way my schedule looks, I won't be installing these anytime soon. But when I do, I will try and I say try to remember about this...
12 point is good when the bolt is rounded off slightly so you take 12 point and hammer it on. Some head bolts are 12 point and some axle nuts are 12 point. If you have them then use them, if you consider buying them then don't, maybe one set just in case but that's about it. Out of all the...
I got stuck once when the plastic/rubber stopper on the clutch pedal broke and the clutch switch would not activate. So easy thing to check to see if the switch even hits the pedal
I would connect everything back up and go to coolant temp sensor and verify that you have ground and 5 volt across the two pins. If not then Identify what you are missing, the ground or the 5 volt. I will assume the ground. Go back to ecu and repair it or give it battery battery ground for...
If that leg is part of sensor ground, then you need to look at the diagram and identify how many sensors are using it. Also I would reconnect everything and go to those sensors and verified ground and then continuity all the way back to the ecu.
Checked the power and the ground for ecu to start. Pull the diagram and identify the power and ground on the pins obd connector. Check continuity on the communication lines and identify all modules on the circuit. Remove one at a time to see if communication will restore.
The only issue that I have is that it is on the connector that has slight discoloration. Thats why you can flip the board and and check to see if that leg is actually burned or was it from something else. Normally you check the capacitors for leaks, those you can change out yourself. You will...
That looks cooked. Try to follow the board and see if you can do continuity on that circuit. That could be a driver for something and that something is killing the board. Identify the pin on the connector of the ecu and go from there.
Just some food for thought. About a year ago I had a Savanah with crank to start. Many parts were replaced before it got to the shop. Many things we checked and few things repaired/replaced. We did start it but it ran rough. In the end it was low compression. So, first you need to make...
I did and thats why I am asking as awd rack is not available. I would think that they are the same but then why have differant racks. I actually watched your video, thanks for making them.
All right, normally I don't post here much but my rack and pinion over flow tubes are leaking and today I took some parts off to get a closer look and I found that it is moist by the big nut where the steering shaft goes in. Anyways, started to look for a rack and noticed that everywhere where...
Just in case rule out frozen rods. I know both sides frozen don't make sense but it's a free test and you can lube them while you at it. Manually crank them also. Then you need to check for power and ground. Mine was going up while the other was going down. I ended up checking the rods and...
Evo coilovers have the holes slotted on the strut. I also bought whiteline camber bolts. Right now I have oem evo bolts installed on the spindle. I drilled the holes out to 14mm. So there is a lot of adjustment.
Finally took a picture. Better late than never. I had my machine shop cut me out round 7 inch 3/8 plates and in the middle I ask the to copy the coilover hat and this is the result. Now the passenger side had to be trimmed a bit on inside to sit flush. The driver side fit flush with no...
By posi, you mean LSD? If so, what options do we have? I am not too much informed on LSD in the front. I have evo rear diff with properly stacked plates with Oem fluid and that too I don't feel anything special during normal driving. Need to finish my suspension and get some decent tires to...
Sorry for no pictures of the hats, been busy. I promise, it's coming. As far as more than 5 degrees of caster, it is possible. I don't know but I will tell you that just by driving on the street, I don't feel any difference than before. Maybe it is just me, I don't know. The fastest I went...
Here is my print out. Sorry for terrible picture, was taken with an old iPad. Don't mind camber, front I have a lot of adjustment and rear I am waiting on adjustable arms. I could have more caster, but will need to work for it a little. Will take pictures of the hats tommorow.
I did it. I actually cut out new plates for the coilovers. I had to install the caster bushing to correct caster on RF and now I have like 5.2 on RF and like 4.8 on LF. The best part is that I need to cut the holes more and possible get more caster. Will post pictures possibly tonight or...
I will add some things. Repair the vehicle and make sure it is safe to be driven and fully functioning. Things I am talking about are tire, brakes, suspension and general maintenance, such as timing belt and leaks. Think twice about your goals as 500hp is a lot so with that in mind buy parts...
I will just add some info as I have successfully swapped evo rear calipers and I will say that it does not lock up at all. I also don't have abs. Granted I don't have crazy pads, will have hp+ installed soon. I also have fully functioning parking brake with completely functioning backing...
I am doing my research while I am laid of due to corona virus and Saturn alternator is an option. Do you have any info or maybe pictures of the set up. Like wiring, size of wires and possible recommendation after the install. Like what you would do different.
I think I looked at your build or posts when I was doing my research. You have a nice set up. Unfortunately my fabricating skills are not up to the level of yours to be able to pull something like that off. But you are correct, ehps require fluids and hoses and I don't like it but at this...
I have mr2 ehps installed on my 1g. It is from 2001 and up mr2 because the module is build in into the pump. I have an old battery with stock alternator. At idle when turning the steering wheel, I tested with an amp clamp, my alternator is pulling its hair out. It pulls 60 amps and my...
Due to corona virus pandemic I got laid of. Fortunatly I had coilovers to install so I did just that. I installed fortune auto evo coils with custom upper hats and supercars engeniring rear lower mounts. Coilovers have swift 7k springs all the way around. Also upper hats in the front have...
For me it was to make room under the hood for a bigger turbo which eventually I will get to. Also I do understand that I will have to pull the engine at one point so having less parts to remove is also a plus. As far as coping others, well don't we all.
I can not comment on gm stuff but I did a mr2 ehps conversion on my 1g. It feels a bit heavier but not bad over all. If you figure it out then please post so maybe we could have an alternative.
Looks decent to me. I DD my 1g for 3 years. Never left me standing. It's all about the owner and how you use it. Don't launch it and red line it everywhere you go. Expect things to fail. Do maintenance a head of time before it becomes a problem. Don't expect it to be a cheap car ( as...
So if there is a difference then the coolant temp sensor will never show 190. That's what I am trying to say. It will always be hotter. Now mine could be off few degrees but not 20+. So from this we can conclude that normally coolant temp will be in 200+. Mine is at like 213. The other...
Wow. I guess I have been fortunate not to have any problems with either of my dsm or the evo transmission. Granted I never launch it or race it. Just casual sprints on freeway. Maybe some pulls. Ok guilty a lot little.
You keep going the other way. What I am saying, is the temperature different from the bottom of the radiator and thermostat housing? Is the coolant hotter or colder?
I have drove for 84k miles in 12 years so I assume my stock clutch is on its way out. It's not if, it's when. I am already looking into how big pain in the rear it will be to change out. Not looking forward to do it.
If you have the stock s shaped upper intercooler pipe than buy a reducer coupler and put a pipe in it and cut the stock hose to fit. Yes, it will be ugly but could be done.
Are those compression numbers on cold or hot engine? I think you need to do a leak down because those number are way low in my opinion. I had a case at work that customer complaint was oil consumption and it turned out to be cracked ring lands. The only problem visually was when you remove...
That looks like a 2g elbow. My opinion would be to buy a reducer silicone coupler and potentially adapt some pipe to it with a properly angeled hose. Or just buy one of those intercooler pipe kits on eBay and make it work. I also had 2g elbow and I give up trying to make it work as I had to...
