    1G 1990 Dynatek ARC-2 installed/impression

You know Marty I’ve got some brand new br8’s I might just throw in, I’ve had these 9’s since last year, I always wanted to err on the side of too cold of a plug than to hot, but I’m sure the 8’s would be fine too.
  2. 1cleangsx

    1G 1990 Dynatek ARC-2 installed/impression

Just confirmed, spark blow out in 2nd gear at a .023 gap, I’ll re gap’em back down to .018 or so and call it good.
  3. 1cleangsx

    1G 1990 Dynatek ARC-2 installed/impression

Mine were gapped to .020, I’m about to test them out on .023 here shortly to see if that gap improves low range misfires and still pulls clean up top. My current plugs are NGK br9es
  4. 1cleangsx

What are some important things you should NEVER do when rebuilding your engine?

Also when re installing the head make sure all pistons are at half mast before torquing the head down.
  5. 1cleangsx

    1G 1990 Dynatek ARC-2 installed/impression

That’s funny I also notice low load misfires here and there, specifically in the 2500-3500rpm range, I re adjusted my plug gap from .020 to .023 to hopefully correct it but haven’t driven the car yet since Saturday, the literature it came with suggests running a factory plug gap but says each...

I would guess too much heat/vibration? Faulty wiring harness:idontknow:

Hahaha:DI wanna be like you when I grow up🤠
  8. 1cleangsx

    1G 1990 Dynatek ARC-2 installed/impression

I’m goin into my 3rd year now on this build/set up and couldn’t be happier, but I wouldn’t say I’m hard on the car, sure I do my fair share of rips but I mostly granny shift 2-3rd, never launched it, just check plugs, change fluids and keep doing little upgrades here and there :)

    Whaat!! From sitting outside perhaps?
  10. 1cleangsx

    90 GSX

Are you limited to how many miles you can drive it each year? I know some states that let you slide on emissions tests with those plates are still stingy about it
  11. 1cleangsx

    1G 1990 Dynatek ARC-2 installed/impression

It’s crazy how noticeable the difference is. I’ve heard of them failing and people having issues but I’ve also seen just as many having success with them. I’m a little ways out from running a standalone with a sequential/cop set up. I think my box is mounted in a good location to minimize heat...

    1G 1990 Dynatek ARC-2 installed/impression

Hey guys! So I recently finished up an Dynatek ARC-2 install on my 1990 Eclipse GSX, with the help of some write ups on here and Marty. I now have it running great and just wanted to share my thoughts. I’m on a built 2.0, E85, gen 2 6266 with a NGK coil pack I purchased from RockAuto, Taylor...

Very cool and very informative podcast from the builder himself, I enjoyed it :)

    Altered Mental Status(1G AWD 5spd)

Looks good! I thought pressure plate bolts were like 22-24ft/lbs? Maybe not it’s been a minute :)
  17. 1cleangsx

What did you do to your DSM today?

Hit 37 psi on my 6266 after the front suspension/arc2 upgrade:D I forgot how stupid fast/fun my car is.
  18. 1cleangsx

    350whp build

Well you’ve gotten the opinions and a list lol, now it’s on YOU, you know the saying “ a cars only as reliable as its owner” top shelf parts will still fail upon improper assembly, machine work aside your cars reliability is up to you :thumb:
  19. 1cleangsx

    350whp build

For 350whp I would just do a stock block refresh. New rings, bearings and maybe some arp rod bolts, that’s what I did a few years back for my fp red set up.
  20. 1cleangsx

    DSM_Blues

Good luck with the build:thumb: you’ve got a beautiful 1g there with some quality parts that won’t disappoint :rocks::rocks:

    FF T case brace question.

Thanks guys. I don’t have any serious drag racing ambitions with the car, just looking for a modestly upgraded drivetrain to match the power output. I like the idea of going with the magnus route first, then further upgrades later. My driveshaft needs rebuilt and I don’t want a rebuilt stock...

    FF T case brace question.

    Awesome thank you:thumb:
  25. 1cleangsx

    FF T case brace question.

Hey guys I’m looking to upgrade my Tcase/driveshaft this year to a 300m output and I’m debating between the addition of a magnus side cover or a Frontline Fab brace, I’d love to do the brace but there’s not much room between the Tcase and the down pipe/exhaust, are any of you guys running the...

Street Build 1g build - The Real Life Trials and Tribulations of building a DSM

So adjust the clutch! I’d say verify no leaks between master/slave and start over with adjustment, If it’s dragging at 6000rpms either you’ve got a leak somewhere or your pedal assembly is f%ck!d.

1G DSM vs. McLaren 765LT Drag Race on AutoEvolution

Well said lol, the McLaren IS Beautiful, but so are a MILLION other six figure cars you could catch a GOLD digger with lol
  33. 1cleangsx

1G DSM vs. McLaren 765LT Drag Race on AutoEvolution

That’s awesome. Beautiful car❤️. I have the same intake/cams, and it looks like an s90:), at the 2.5” intercooler piping guess I was only referencing similar looking parts on my car but mine will never be that fast lol, I don’t want a full blown race car, but I love watching full blown race car...
  34. 1cleangsx

1G DSM vs. McLaren 765LT Drag Race on AutoEvolution

What I gathered from the Talon in the video is it looked like he was still on 2.5” intercooler piping which was cool, and a buscher style COP with an arc2 so maybe he’s still on ecmlink? Also with the ratchet shifter he obviously had no tcu so I figured it was a swap, but I didn’t know their...

    News about Joe Bucci

This is very sad. He’s one of my FAVORITE YouTube subscriptions and such a wealth of knowledge. I know this sounds cliche but life is seriously precious. Enjoy each day because none of us are guaranteed tomorrow..

Street Build 1g build - The Real Life Trials and Tribulations of building a DSM

We had a 2015 Edge eco boost my wife misses to this day, while we’re currently off the topic of Anfurneyy’s SLOW dsm, I’ll say the only reason we traded it in was from the Ford flex plate issue:barf:

    6266 Build or Bust

Hey guys! Arc2 install is done, I think the install went great, I owe Marty one for sure :thumb: Also went ahead and pulled my injectors to be cleaned/flow tested, then I’m just waiting on a new lower control arm to replace the one that wouldn’t fit and then the front end will be buttoned up...

What did you do to your DSM today?

Hey I’ve driven off in my dsm with the strangest sound I couldn’t place, turned back and went home to be safe and then it hit me..the LUG NUTS were lose lol:ohdamn: AND I bent 2 intake valves when torquing the head down on my current motor because pistons 1 and 4 were at top dead center so yeah...

What did you do to your DSM today?

Just make sure she has gear oil first:D

    Bigger stronger w5m33 gears?

Again, 500hp on a 25-35yr old car with minimal/obsolete parts I guess you gotta “pay to play” lol
  42. 1cleangsx

    Bigger stronger w5m33 gears?

With the after $ale price being about the same as a PPG set up, the only reason one would choose a gearset set like this over a straight cut dog box would be for around town stop light to stop light convenience. The dog box requires a learning curve of rev-matched downshifts, and a pricey...
  43. 1cleangsx

    Bigger stronger w5m33 gears?

I would imagine ANY trans builder would be excited/curious about a new aftermarket gearset on a 30+ year old platform.
  44. 1cleangsx

    Bigger stronger w5m33 gears?

I can’t wait to see some real world results!

Street Build 1g build - The Real Life Trials and Tribulations of building a DSM

I can’t get over the spool up on that 67mm, looks like it hits around 5500rpm which is similar to my 6266, that’s pretty impressive, numbers look good too:D what’s the ethanol content in your tank?
  47. 1cleangsx

Street Build 1g build - The Real Life Trials and Tribulations of building a DSM

Looks like FUN! Hope you get to enjoy her for a bit before you either pull the trans or it fails LOL, I’ll be “targeting 40psi” this spring now that my arc2 is installed. The car looks FAST even in the video, which normally never does it justice, that car looks like a RIPPER!!
