ok guys, im going to be running an e3 intake, e316g and a bbk 62mm tb. my question is about the size of my piping. i know that there is an advantage to oversized pipes before the turbo, but after the turbo is where i get fuzzy. given the size of the throttle body, are there any gains to be had...
here's a crazy idea. what if i cut the flange off my intake manifold, opened the tb side up and had a larger flange welded on; one that allowed a larger tb? just trying to get the best of both worlds. My buddy welds professionally so i can get this done for cheap/ nearly free. would it be worth...
Can't really find and answer to this. When you guys did your awd swap, did you use the gas tank sheild? I can't find one intact enough to use. Is it necessary for the swap or is it purely a safety thing? If i don't use it, do i need to shim anything to install the rest of the parts?
Just a suggestion, we need a searchable database that catalogs wheels that do/don't fit with each of the different mods. obviously it would have to have full wheel description and anything done to get them to fit if possible. i realize it's easy to find if the popular wheels fit but obscure ones...

So I bought a used 3" megan o2 housing for way cheap and got to looking at it. I noticed some overlap inside where the pipes are welded. Is It ok to grind that out and open up hole. The overlap is not part of a weld. just seems like it slipped through qc.
Got my "big wheel" rebuilt and it came back with an anti corrosion type finish on it. Question is do I need to clean that stuff off the mating surfaces or is it safe to leave it. The finish is grey if that helps.
